On a second watch, you notice a lot of little things like Satan's reflection in her boss's front door. Realizing that he was in the mom's basement every time Lee visited, living there since she was nine, is so freaky. I think it may be why she's always framed with a door behind her. Because the locked door to the basement was always in the back of her mind but the doll never let her put her finger on it. Side note: Nicholas Cage based some of this performance on his mother, which I think really shone through in the cloying sweetness that felt so wrong and out of place coming from him.

This wasn't my favorite when it came out (I do want to re-watch it again when I have the time), but the marketing campaign for this movie was insanely good. Though honestly, my favorite thing about this movie is that it's directed by Osgood Perkins, who is the son of Norman Bates himself: Anthony Perkins.

Another “hint” when you watch it again, is in the beginning, when se has to say a word when looking at the images. When it shows the triangle she says father.
