The way I do the feedback sessions is that I review the tracks based on the order in which I receive them. It ends up that tracks at the beginning get more in depth reviews while tracks at the end get much less attention. I received some feedback from a Patron that the quick reviews later in the stream are not really helpful and feel a bit dismissive. They suggested it would be better to give more quality feedback to fewer tracks in the allocated time. What do you prefer?

If I was late to submit then there is a price for that, compared to someone who was immediately prepared. I would prefer that price to be a less in depth review than no review at all.

My thoughts exactly! I would rather less detailed feedback than no feedback at all if I was one of the last people to submit a demo.

If you decide to focus on quality (you should definitely try at least one shot), you should send an e-mail when submissions are closed so people know and don't 'hope to be in'. I think it's worth a shot, if people are not satisifed you can do the old way again.

I do write in every post "There is limited capacity but I'll do my best to get through as many as I can in 2 hours. " I try to accommodate everyone as best I can but obviously if I receive a crazy amount of tracks it's not possible.

Maybe find a max # you can handle in 2 hours and cap it when you've hit that many submissions. That way you're not in a rush and speed through the last 5-10 or whatever

If there's a way to put tracks into a waiting list / queue where say 20 get reviewed every session I think that'd be okay.

Dilby

The problem with that is eventually I end up reviewing tracks from months prior as the backlog fills. It needs to be a new submission every time.

Dilby

But that is the opposite of your original comment?

Gabriel Wood

Could have a requirement to resubmit but can maintain their place in line? Yeah

Davepz

💯. You could dismiss ones that are half a track too, save time

It's kind of an option that allows for both. You get to feel like you're giving quality to everyone and people get to have a real expectation of what they are gonna get. I'm imagining it being better to have never been in line in the first place, than to wait and see that my track wasn't reviewed. So I think the way you're doing it is good, but having an initial cap before you start reviewing may curb people's expectations.

As it is now, it seems correct to me, I was also in the queue for sending the track late. I understand that it is impossible to give full attention to such a large number of tracks. I think what Dilby has proposed is correct, a vote and let the majority decide.
