Hey everyone, I'm just about to start filming the video for these week and I thought it could be  good to get some input from you all regarding what's up and coming.Let me know what genre's, artists, labels and other topics you would like to see covered. When it comes to "sound like" videos, keep in mind I try to make the content relevant to the music I release, DJ and what I enjoy, as I feel this helps to make the channel more of a niche and allows me to enjoy the process, which ensures I can keep doing it long term. I also need to consider what people are going to watch or search for, so I generally use bigger artists and labels in the titles of the videos.Really looking forward to your suggestions!

Sound Selection. What to look for when scrolling through your samples. Why choose sample A over samples B-Z. I feel like the top producers know how to find the right sounds instantly. Have you ever thought of why you choose the sounds you do?

Dilby

Hmm, this is a really tricky topic and I think is a skill that comes with experience. I think that one of the most important things is to select sounds in context. The way I do that is by auditioning sounds using the hot swap function on Simpler so I select a sound that works with the other sounds I already have. I try to reinforce that in my videos as much as possible. But I'll try to have a think about some specific tips and ways I could formulate it into a video. I do feel like it's definitely something that needs to be developed though, not something I can simple explain how to do and then anyone can replicate that. Thanks for your feedback Karl :)

I was thinking there would be something you are listening for, how it fits your needs sonically, looking for punch, power, dynamic range etc. Trawling through 100 snares then bang, one fits.....why?

I am a new pateron member and I really love your workflow I wish there where a how to get started video for example How to use your breakdowns to learn, when you make a video how to make music like mihai popoviciu and you have a template to download I dont know how I should use that to learn in the best way If I should try to recreat the track or if I should just look through the template and learn from it I think the how to create a track from scratch is the most useful for me as a beginner you do some awsome tuotirals and awsome music I really loved remember me , Its such a good call and response I really enjoy listening to it . Thank you for all your videos on youtube and pateron you are a great teacher and I am truly happy to learn from you

I definitely think there is a large part that is subjective. I have noticed that some of my favourite producers use sounds I would never select. If I sample a clap from an Audiojack track or a Burnski, and add it into my track it usually sounds bad to me because it doesn't work with the other stuff I have selected. But I love the way it sounds in their tracks. My opinion is that there aren't really good and bad sounds, more like combinations of sounds that work well together, which is also completely subjective. It's tough, but I'll try to find a way to offer some tips on it bro :)

Dilby

Hi Isac. What would you like to see in that regard mate?

jesse bligh

Hey legend I would love to see your take on a organic house record

Dilby

You're probably going to enjoy the video on Sunday then ;) It's focused on writing shakers, but I will do something a bit more in depth than this at a later date too....

steve goldsmith

Hi dilby, maybe something on how you correct phase issues in sounds, how to spot them?

Luca Pensa

I think some of the finer details Of music production would be great. Can’t think of anything in particular but I can imagine a lot of us can come up with good ideas but it’s just executing them so they sound like a professional mix/ song.

Hi Dilby. It would be really interesting to see some "Sound Design" tutorials, mostly based on how to be able to identify and recreate the distinctive synths that we hear, love and get inspired from our favorite tracks or producers

isac

A video of how to get started for using your templates

Heroic

Would love to see a video inspired by Ferreck Dawn. Tracks like 'In Arms' and 'Back Tomorrow' have such a distinctive sound to the point where you can recognize a Ferreck Dawn track just by listening. Big inspiration

nesi dj

Would love to see a video inspired by Piem, Blondish, Felix Jaehn etc, more house. Tracks like 'Temptation' and 'Nuit Blanche' etc.

Paul Madrid

What about a Dennis Cruz style track?

Steve

Something along the lines of Spacedisco Records. They sound garage and techy, but still housey. In the label productions, I like the type of kick and snares. Top in the Hatiras style. Cheers mate

I know I'm a little late to the party but I'd love to see a Ben Rau tutorial. I love his latest stuff, it has a real funky vibe to it. By the way thank you for the content, I've learnt much more from your videos than I have in the last year following other channels!

Juan Eduardo Murillo

Hey man! Just Subscribed. Amazing videos! Thanks a lot. I follow Tomi&Kesh and Nozzo Style tracks. Would be amazing if you make a video of that kind of sounds. Cheers!
