The US Is Preparing for War Over Taiwan

Despite the US not formally recognizing Taiwan as an independent country, the US is preparing to go to war to defend it from an invasion by China. In this episode of China Uncensored, we look at how the US is encircling Taiwan with its military, how it's beefing up its defenses in the Indo-Pacific, and some political changes that have helped the US regain its footing in the region. When the CCP does eventually launch their invasion, how long do you think they'll keep the war dragging on? The only way I can see their invasion of Taiwan ending is if the CCP is removed from power and disbanded in such a way that they can never rise to power ever again.

Read "The 4th Turning" (1990). It posits that history develops in a 4-cycle period, each cycle 20 years, each 80-yr old human gets to see all 4 cycles. 2020 is the start of a 20-year period of crisis. That crisis was predicted in 1990. Previous crises = WWII, Civil War, 1776.

When exactly are the spring and fall invasions windows for Tiawan?

Do you think that if China started an invasion of Taiwan, they would preemptively strike US targets like bases and carrier groups in the pacific to slow a possible response to an invasion?

Michael Lambert

It may seem the CCP would not start a war when things are going sideways for them in china, but that could be exactly why they would start a war. Nothing like a war to rally the people. Unlike Ukraine, invading Taiwan would be a sea war first, then a land war. The logistics would be formidable. I suspect the CCP would try to refrain from destroying the industrial capacity of Taiwan, seeing that as the prize. Lobbing missiles would be risky if this is true. Conversely, if they just want a trophy and damn the consequences - well that could get ugly fast. I am concerned that we will be too slow to really deter the CCP. Perhaps we should park an aircraft carried on the far side of Taiwan from China and stop tiptoeing around, but that could be the absolute worst strategy.

As they said in Ancient Rome "Sī vīs pācem, parā bellum" also rendered as "if you want peace, prepare for war."

They'll want to play the victim card, as International Law is (ostensibly) very strict in regards to external interventions in Civil Wars, you need UN Security Council approval to get involved, and as China would veto that... China would likely let the US "attack first" within their context. So the PRC attacks the ROC(Taiwan), thus resuming their civil war(according to the PRC). US intervention in said civil war then becomes a violation of International Law/norms and the PRC gets to claim victim status. If the PRC attacks the US/Japan first, they cannot claim to be either the victim, or to be fighting a civil war.
