Do you think there's a chance that, with the lack of support provided to them by the central government, the leaders of one or more Chinese provinces may start to break away from the control of the CCP and try to become a new legitimate government for the Chinese people? Or even become an independent country? I know it's not at all likely, maybe even impossible, but with the nation being in a state of barely-contained chaos right now I feel like anything could happen at any time in the near-future.

IMHO Xi is not afraid of the collapse of Putin's Russia. All Xi is concerned about it how to take advantage of it.

Xi may be a little concerned as he is counting on Putin to keep the US divided on what to do if he invades Taiwan. If Russia falls to a coup then the US can concentrate completely on China if a certain person hasn't been bought out according to some people.

Okay, the internet is full of crazy theories about what happened in Russia. Prigozhin was head of the Wagner Group. Putin's private army that does his dirty work when Russia isn't supposed to be involved. Prigozhin claims that the #3 man under Putin bombed his men. First reports is that thousands were killed. Now I hear it was about 30. So he marched on Moscow to get revenge. Then he stopped short when Belarus got involved and was given a pardon. Belarus has nukes now. Instead of staying in exile, Prigozhin has been flying all over the place. This is crazy. During this, Putin ran away and wasn't seen for 2 days. The #2 man disappeared for 3 days and the #3 guy hasn't been seen for at least 6 days. A Russian Youtuber I watch says the purge has started and heads will roll. He's not really sure if Putin is still in charge or not and there's no way for us to know. He also says all the Oligarchs ran away during this and now are coming back. He (Inside Russia Youtube) think they will be purged also. Finally, TFI Global claims that Pregozhin has played Biden for a fool and got Biden to send him ammo that he was complaining about not getting from Russia in the buildup to all of this. Another Youtube guy claims that WWIII starts in two weeks.

If Billy Joel was Chinese he could have written "We Started the Fire." The number and size of mistakes made in China are mind-boggling. The problem is with such a track record, invading Taiwan (or attempting to invade Taiwan) would just add to the list, so it cannot be discounted. Watching Putin founder as his ill-considered war with Ukraine stalls and reverses might have given Xi pause, but a good war can paper over so many internal flaws with the public that Xi has to be actively considering it.

I find it difficult to give credence to anything a government says, especially when it comes to China or the US. Sanctions on Russia (Stealing money from wealthy Russian citizens) Only strengthen the Ruble and weakened the Dollar. Well, that was another clever move from our fearless leader. I'm sure China is terrified of US sanctions.

Sadly, authoritarianism is on the rise everywhere. Look at how we acted the last 3 years. There's plenty of these types in our elite as well. We need to come to grips with the reality that we will become the next CCP if we don't fix our culture and our political system.
