China Just Killed Foreign Business

China has been repeatedly saying it wants more foreign investment, and in some ways it is bending over backwards to attract foreigners to China. But at the same time, it's been showing through its actions that foreign businesses in China are not safe, and that's become increasingly clear with China's new foreign relations and anti-espionage laws. Personally, if I were in charge of America's foreign relations, by this point I'd have at least started a gradual evacuation of American citizens in mainland China and closed down America's remaining consulates, saving the closure of the embassy in Beijing for when I was certain I had gotten as many American citizens out of the country as I could manage. Do you think the CCP would allow this? Or would they try to interfere in the process somehow for whatever reason they can come up with?

The reason that hasn't happened in any pull-out we've done in this administration is because doing that is a signal of weakness / inability to negotiate and becomes a political loss for the administration. These guys just let everything fall on the floor hoping nothing bad will happen. Sadly, if people are going to get out, they probably have to decide to on their own.

Which US businesses, besides Tesla, have stayed in China? Just asking.

Forgive me but I just realized that in China the response "That’s what she said" has a less salacious and more ominous overtone..."That’s what Xi said..."

If you look on YT you get guys like serpentza and laowhy86 who got out and are spreading real stuff about China...and there are others...as for people who stay, there are always those who can't see the forest for the trees.

And so we have the "brilliant" mind Xi, akin to Mao's messy cranium who will figure out the Chinese economy. Not going to happen. I just saw him on TV in front of a hall filled with PLA officers...the comedy was their clapping that was all in unison. And they would fight the same way...cannon fodder par excellence. And note that Gates and Musk get in and out in a a very short time...they will not stay in China...after screwing Xi over. You see, they came with a glow that would be wonderful for Xi...but it was all a lie. They were grooming someone with a bestial nature.

GM has had a factory there since the 70's...US based Smithville Ham is owned by the Chinese...it supplies good food for the CCP leaders who are afraid to eat their countries ham. Just two of many...

A little off topic but I am a big fan of China in Focus. They have mentioned you before in that splendid performance you did. Do you ever collaborate with them?

These knee jerk reactions to US actions will make more businesses leave China, and that's a good thing!
