Some 100-or-so years later ( according to https://www.quora.com/Would-the-time-frame-between-TOS-and-TNG-be-suitable-for-a-new-Star-Trek-series ), it seems Redshirt Aer's penchant for getting into trouble might be hereditary. ;)
