First of all: I'm so sorry you guys are getting comments calling you immoral and other shitty things just because you guys like the finale. Second: I think the biggest divide between you guys and what others think about the end just has to do with what anyone's deal breaker is for movie or show quality. Personally, I didn't like the ending in part because of the plot holes (easy enough to ignore though) and I feel like they tried too much to please everyone, which I think is cowardly and lazy. That second one is the one that caught me. While I can understand why that wouldn't be a deal breaker for others, it is for me.

I think it’s just a James gun peace maker season two situation where the duffers and the cast kinda hyped up a lot of episodes and stuff in interviews and it just kinda fell flat for a lot of people. And the writing this last season just had a lot of plot holes.

I obviously don’t think that Andrew is lying or paid. However a 10 and overall all his rankings of stranger things are ridiculously high but he clearly has an inherent biases which isn’t an issue I have bias on things I love.

My biggest problem with the finale is how predictable it was. It’s the safest ending they could’ve possible done. They have always been afraid or unwilling to kill off any main characters, so the fact they couldn’t take a single risk in the finale is so underwhelming, yet predictable. I felt zero suspense, worry, or fear for any of the characters and that’s lame. This is the final episode ever. It is THE boss fight, all 4 seasons have built to this final battle. I wanted to feel genuine shock but it just felt like a spongebob episode. No one wants the finale of a show they’ve been so dedicated to for half of their lives to be as predictable as it was.

Maybe it's just an Indiana thing, but no movie has ever been in theaters for 2 months around me. Most movie theaters stop showing a movie after like 3 weeks, maybe 4 if it's really big and popular, so I don't know what Alex is talking about. Still, I agree that Netflix is bogus for limiting WB movies to 17 days if this goes through.

I get that Andrew thinks we should be satisfied since all of the Stranger Things characters get happy endings but for me an interesting story is better than a happy ending. They're not mutually exclusive but the story just wasn't as engrossing this time around. That's really the bottom line. And making the final season the least interesting is disappointing for sure.

Yes there have been plotholes since day one, but they have the beauty of being there to go back to with future seasons or they're so insignificant they don't matter as much. In your finale of a series, loose threading is ridiculous and the interviews after the fact are only making things hurt more. Like my head cannon is Vecna flayed the Demo everything's into the mind flayer's new body, but the Duffer's answered in an interview that Vecna wasn't prepared for an attack on his home turf so he didn't call them. That bothers me, it bothers me a lot!

GOTG Vol 3 was a movie where everyone expected big deaths and then it ended up being happy endings and everyone fucked with that. I don't think people inherently disliked the ending because it was happy, I think the happy ending in Stranger Things' case just felt too easy and too much like fan fiction.

Shitting on GOT is crazy when u haven’t even seen it, it’s genuinely the greatest TV show of all time. Sure the final season isn’t great, but it’s not as bad as stranger things, and u both gave that shit a 9+/10. If you’re dedicated to GOT then you’d give the whole last season the same treatment. The finale of ST is a 7 or maybe 8 at best. Don’t shit on a great show and compare it to this shit if u haven’t seen it. At least they had the balls to make the show interesting and kill off main characters

I consider Stranger Things to be a better ending, it's still bad, but the level of quality of Stranger Things stayed around the same level till the last season (besides the whiplash writing of S3), BUT GoTs first 4 seasons are 10/10 no it's and or buts about it, but starting in S5 when Geroge stopped writing and having a hand in the show, it started losing its quality and charm. S7 is when it fell off a cliff, and then S8 it fell into the dark abyss. And this is coming from a book fan, to understand some of the things I'm talking about, I would highly recommend checking out Glidus on YouTube, he's best friends with Alt Shift X and he's funny in explaining the frustrations of those last 4 seasons.
