Early episode is clutch

mousey

I reacted the same exact way as alex during that first story

Neil Dubz

Andrew how do u stroke it

Kelton Moore

YURRRRR LOVE THE PODCAST. NEED MORE Superhero CARTOON TAKES. ALSO. OMNI MAN AND MARK VS THE ZODS AT THE END OF YOUNG JUSTICE. (2 HRS OUT OF THE PHANTOM ZONE)

Chrisbsharp

Can’t wait for episode 5 of the boys we get a supernatural reunion 👌👌

Cole Borbon

Its a super odd movie but I know Alex has said he is interested in Ari Aster. The movie “The Drama” that just came out is produced by Ari Aster and Daniel Pemberton did the score. Not typically your guys’ thing at all but wanted to throw it out there

shabeast

Cold Take: Andrew was pissed how often Alex said the f word during the podcast with Mr.Winderbaum

Ryan Byrne

Hat guys clip of “you use lotion or?”

Jaydakvdd

Andrew lowkey needs to learn to accept when he’s wrong. It’s actually insanely annoying. He’ll cope to the absolute max just to validate his own opinions. Comparing the scene from TASM 2 — a scene where Peter acts unbelievably out of character and allows multiple people to die while jus joking around — to the scenes from Homecoming, where Peter remains completely in character and is genuinely giving it his all, and just happens to fail, is actually laughable.

Jagger Stutzman

Not a spoiler for the show BUT in the comic mark’s recovery takes MUCH longer I think it’s like 10 months or something

RilesChase

Can we get the photo of the cut? So curious

julian

respect to Andrew for still auditioning. dudes just like the movie whiplash 😭

ReadyAlex2903

23:55 He gives up being spider man because he wants to read MJ poetry? That is absolutely not what happened in that movie. Life is hitting him hard in every direction between what happens with mj and getting fired from his job and his problems with harry and aunt may getting evicted and he can’t help her with that and he can’t even pay his own rent and he’s failing his classes in college. And even more. Also I don’t know if you forgot but he didn’t give up being spider man with his powers. He had completely lost his powers he couldn’t shoot webs or climb walls and he didn’t have his spider sense. He even had to wear his glasses again. So in that scene where he’s eating a hot dog he DOES NOT have his powers. And to further prove that he does not have his powers later on he makes the right choice to run into the burning building with no powers to save the little girl. And then he sits there with an oxygen tank because he couldn’t stop coughing. He himself could have died in the building. I know you’re trying to defend the TASM 2 scene and I myself also defend it but talking bad about this scene was a horrible comparison.

John Lindsay

39:54 “we’ve been there done that”

Julio Suarez

whatever company made those mugs need to get more love bc holy fuck they clink hard and they dont break

OLIVER GONZALEZ

Bro ngl I think the boys I think takes the 1 for me I think it did a better episode this week compared to invincible and daredevil although the scene in diner was fye from dd and that boxing seesh only memorable moment from Invincible was lil fighting twords the end which was understandable since that insane episode last week Ps Rip 🚊

Jared Camacho

I also ended up in the hospital this week, im a pro wrestler and i dislocated my elbow doing a dropkick so i can kinda relate to you andrew. Im glad you're doing good!

A

I can’t wait for them to see how thragg is. Next ep

Breezy

Yeaa idk if yall have been told but Mark’s recovery does take way longer in the comics and you definitely should be scared of Thragg lmao they’re gonna be geeked when he really wild out

ScottieBeatz

46:26, am I tripping Swear that’s a woman lmao

Beau James

Shrinking season finale was also amazing this week. Underrated show on Apple TV with Harrison Ford and Jason Segel. Highly recommend.

Bevin Astro

In the comics Mark took 10 months to heal i believe

NightFury349

2 months to wake up from his coma, 10 months to fully heal I believe.

kyle kuklaw

To try and answer the question about Mark's guts, im pretty sure in real life doctors just place the intestines back in best they can and then the intestines will naturally rearrange themselves back to original shape and placement. I can't speak on the other organs if they also do that, but thats how the intestines would've healed!

Ofek

You are my goats love yall

Consnerdvative

Alex is such a panzee when it comes to the cut story

Cade Moser

Like 7 years ago my arm got sliced open on a glass door, it was definitely stupid and a little funny looking back at it but it was a BAD cut. Cut like all my nerves, my tendon and even artery. I can't remember exactly what my arm looked like when I looked (it was only like half a second) but I remember seeing purple which could've been muscle tissue or something else, and then a white line, probably my tendon. That was GNARLY

Josiah Ruffin

I’m convinced ur brain turns off when talking about tasm2 and homecoming it’s almost as infuriating as your Ragnarok take 😭😭😭

The Escape Pod Podcast

Nah ragnarok sucks idk what you talking about (I haven’t seen it in a decade I need to watch it again) lol

gary

Nothing like hearing about Andrew’s hand being split open while eating breakfast

jesse dulay

the character arc of A-train running through a girl to avoiding hitting girl and that’s what ends his story. redemption arc earned

OLIVER GONZALEZ

Alex should do some more music takes I was rewatching some older content and there was music I would love to hear that again

Malte Ortmann

Crazy that you never mentioned the "with great power comes the absolute certainty to turn into a right cunt" from the boys season 3

Dayja Blake

When I was a kid I accidentally sliced my thumb open, and I too had to awkwardly shake someone’s hand 😖😂

Lj

After i rewatched it i agree with you, its a drag

Loki666Deku

I swear MM choked the penis guy with his own penis to eliminate him

lace dogg

Homelander and soldier boy have different versions of V soldier boy has V1 and doesn’t age Homelander has regular V just administered differently and does age based on the plot line of him losing his hair the virus could still work on him And it actually doesn’t make sense for them to use Soldierboy as a baseline

noah kisselback

Isn’t the prison guard with the force powers a girl? They kept saying he

lace dogg

Viltrumites get stronger as the age the betrayer is absolutely top 10 strongest beings in this universe…

Perry Guilianti

Guys wtf are yall on with thragg. Gonna sound so bad when you see what he does next. He stayed on the ship cause he had no intention of battling there he’s regrouping and using strategy cause he’s not an idiot.

DJ

Did anyone else notice Captain Lawson’s accent being super inconsistent in Maul? It was throwing me off

Ty.dk

Omni man has been alive for so long he probably does know where to put the guts😭😭 viltrumites have probably seen more guts then doctors have.

Trey Huitt

Andrew’s worst take is that Tom isn’t funny. Everything he says actually applies to Toby, not funny just awkward

dalton

andrew when i like 2 years old i had spiderman pajamas with web wings and i jumped off my couch thinking i would fly, i got 6 staples in my head

Juan

Are you going to be at nostalgia con on Sunday ? So I can get my tickets

OLBA FEMI

Where are the 5 hour pods ?

Brayden Doop

Did he ever review season 4 of the boys?

NightFury349

Homelander has to focus for some of those abilities he has and for Invincible, Viltrumites have some regeneration, his body will place his organs back where they should be.

Jordan Montes

I think Toby’s spider man is more quipy and less awkward but his Peter Parker is definitely awkward as he should be. Tom’s Spider-Man are awkward and not as talkative

Rogues Door Mat

Human organs can find their own way back to their "right spot" so I wouldn't be surprised if a human half breed would do the same

CG4

It’s at the end of Mondays episode

Law Grigg

I’ve sliced the muscle under my thumb and had 6 stitches a week into my college freshman year…fun times The numbing agent actually sucks

theBRICKBOY

Here’s my theory for why Ashley can’t read Sister Sages mind: it would be like her trying to read Dr. Stranges mind when he was seeing the millions of possibilities. Sage is trained with her powers so she knows how to narrow into one thought, but Ashley would be overwhelmed with the millions of thoughts firing. Basically I think SS has super ADHD

Cody

Gotta be the most sufferable Andrew has ever been. Its okay to admit there are dumb scenes in tasm 2 bro. I love tasm 2 it's one of my favorites but there's literally no excuse for spidey to make quips and let people die

The Escape Pod Podcast

*insufferable Homie I admit it’s a dumb scene. 😭 Like 5 different times. In this exact episode. I actually say it’s flat out bad. Yes, I also add context and push back against certain people acting like it’s worse than it is. Which you can totally disagree with. But none of those are excuses. I literally say I wish the scene had been made differently. So I agree with you it’s okay to admit there are dumb scenes in TASM 2. Which is why I did that multiple times in this video. But apologies if I didn't make my points well enough. All love - I appreciate you and appreciate you being a patron, my brother. 💪🏻

Lachlan

The thing with Mark is.. intestines and other organs rearrange themselves when they’re placed back in randomly after big open surgeries.. y’all are the goats can’t wait to hear more about born again ep 4 on the main

Cody

Sorry didnt mean to come off so aggressive haha. Tasm 2 still goated, keep up the great work, love the pod

Josiah Ruffin

I think that it is willingly obtuse to know that the premise of a movie is that it is based around its humor and it’s comedy and then recognize that the comedy doesn’t work for you. See that it works for almost everybody else and then have the holier than thou attitude to be able to say oh this movie just sucks when really you should just say the comedy wasn’t for me which means I can’t accurately judge this movie when the comedy works for almost everybody else and because the comedy is such a big part of that movie, you can’t fairly rate it in my opinion

RilesChase

I actually couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed it!

LightCircle

There are a few things I’d like to comment on, but this is going to be a long post. With Invincible, the comics already establish that Viltrumites with healthy brains and hearts can recover from almost anything, so Mark surviving here isn’t really an issue. The show even reinforces it by having him fed nutrient-rich liquid food, so he doesn’t need solids while recovering. It all lines up pretty well with what’s already been set up. For The Boys, I honestly think A-Train’s arc deserves more praise than it’s getting in this episode. Yeah, it’s sad he dies early, but what really matters is how much he’s changed. What I really like is how his death comes full circle. He was introduced in Season 1 by running through Hughie’s girlfriend because he was going too fast and didn’t care. But now, in Season 5, he dies because he refuses to let that happen again. When he’s sprinting, he’s looking back at Homelander, and when he turns forward, he suddenly notices a pedestrian right in front of him. Instead of just plowing through her, he tries to dodge—he kind of leaps to avoid her—which makes him lose balance and crash into the woods, and that’s what ultimately lets Homelander catch him and kill him. So it’s not about slowing down at all—he never had that option. He was going full speed the entire time. It’s that in that split second, he chose not to sacrifice an innocent person. That’s the full circle moment. The way he was introduced is literally how he gets sent off, just flipped in terms of his morality, and I think that’s such a good touch. Also, just because he’s fast doesn’t mean he can dodge perfectly with no problem. He’s not the Flash. The Flash has the speed force and can move every part of his body at insane speeds, but A-Train doesn’t work like that. He’s basically a nerfed version—he can run really fast, but he still has human limitations. If you’re sprinting at full speed and suddenly someone steps in front of you, you can’t just perfectly react—you’re either going to collide or lose balance. In his case, he chose to dodge, and that’s what caused the crash. So honestly, that part makes sense to me. As for the power scaling, I kind of agree it’s inconsistent, but it’s also just part of the genre. Invincible, Marvel, DC, even anime all run into this. And here, the emotional payoff and character writing are strong enough that I can overlook those flaws. And then with Bullseye, he’s just such an interesting character, and I completely get the praise he’s getting. The key thing about him is that he always needs a “North Star”—something to give him purpose. Before, that was his therapist. Without something like that, he completely loses control, which is why he snaps when the therapist dies and when the girl he cares about leaves him. Because of that, he constantly needs to replace that purpose, and that’s what leads him to the church. He basically convinces himself that his new goal is to do one good deed to make up for everything he’s done—killing Foggy, working for Fisk and Vanessa, all of it. The problem is his definition of “good” is completely warped. In his mind, saving Daredevil is a good deed. Killing the vigilante-hunting force is a good deed. And killing Wilson Fisk, who he sees as the ultimate villain, is a good deed. What makes this even more interesting is how differently he thinks compared to Matt. Matt is someone who questions everything—someone who would think about what it means to kill Fisk, what it means to break his code, what it means for himself and for the city, and whether it actually does any good or just creates something worse. That’s exactly why Matt can’t cross that line. But Bullseye doesn’t think like that at all. He’s so purely rational that none of those questions even exist to him. All he needs to know is that Fisk is the current “big bad,” so killing him must be the good deed. A good way to put it is this: if his “North Star” tells Bullseye to be a “good guy,” he will fully commit to being the good guy—but he doesn’t actually understand what that means. His purpose becomes carrying out that role, not understanding it. That’s also why he’s so easy to manipulate. Once the person guiding him disappears, he loses that purpose completely, because he never understood it in the first place—he was just executing it. That’s why you can’t evaluate Bullseye like a normal character. He doesn’t think the way we do, and there’s a lot of evidence showing that. And that’s exactly what makes his motivation so strong—because it’s consistent, logical to him, and at the same time deeply unsettling.

Noah Kowchee

Tom’s Spider-Man was way younger in homecoming than Andrew Garfield was in TASM2

Landon

Have we considered the virus in The Boys turning supes into zombie supes 🤔

Cole Hoj

I feel like they’re going to have Homelander win somehow, it just seems like the type of show to do that. Especially since they said they are going to differ from the comics, which could mean anything but still

Raye

calling the whole part focus of the scene a “production mistake” is crazy cope😭

jfish

I have to say I love Andrews passion for magic, and from someone in the hospital hearing your experience getting sutures a local anesthetic is a cool story. Glad you are doing ok.

Finlife25

Btw the guy who was crushing people at the camp in the boys .... is not a guy

Keegangstr

I was 4 when I got 8 stitches in my head from running around a kitchen table playing tag and hitting the side of a pointy table. What’s crazy is my grandma was driving me to the hospital and I was in the backseat with a bloody rag on my head and I could barely even feel that I had a cut in my head.

PlatinumAC

he meant mistake as in it was mistake that they put that in there, not as in they messed up during the production.

Tyler Robison

Yall should get Star Wars Theory on as a guest

Kyle Morton

Conquest healed from basiclay nothing. Marks fine. Villtrumite logic. Also dick guy from the buys was choked to death w his own dick btw def dead

Kyle Morton

Also Oliver was trhing to keep them alive remeber? Its not that they cant just imidiatey kill the creatures its juts that omniman is learning mercy. GUYS CMON

Kyle Morton

Thragg is trying to keep his elites and his race alive guys 🤦‍♂️. Hes tactical and smart as hell. Not a bitch boy. Just wait.

James

I would say this is a good response however u say he needed to go save max which he only needs saving because andrew drives the truck into an intersection and launches the car at max. Also blaming tom for the things u blamed him for then being basically unable to fully criticize andrew when he is directly responsible for all of that death is blatant bias

James

I think overall invincible has been a bad job with making characters threatening in comparison to the comic. I think this has a lot to do with the art style. However, I have a little doubt thragg will not be very threatening by the end of this season

Nathan Marr

Did Alex just say that people wouldn't have died in the ferry in Homecoming.....

Charles McMullin

nah he was asleep for 10 months in the comic. they completely changed how long he was asleep.

Laugh Track

Dude Star Wars theory is a straight grifter

HatGuyFan(cone)

Glad to join the Patreon after watching on YouTube for months now

Parker Olson

“Bitch boy”… oh boy after watching episode 7… they’re gonna take that back😂

Luke

I expect a full apology next episode and I would do anything to see their genuine first reaction to this last invincible episode

shawn katigbak

Yea i agree with half these ppl in the comments YALL NEED TO GO ON UR KNEES AND APOLOGIZE, and yall have to talk abt the avatar movie leak i wanna know ur guys opinions abt it

Bruce B

This is just outright wrong yall did not listen to his reasonings at all. And Alex blatantly ignored the multiple points Andrew made

Jaydakvdd

Nice response, you said absolutely nothing in rebuttal, instead just claiming I didn’t listen to his reasoning, which is totally how a debate works — sure. Trust me, I listened. And his reasoning is god fucking awful, as it always is. The guy who made the original video already made a rebuttal and completely debunked his points.
