Well then, the poll's results for the short story ended up with the one about the queen at her banquet winning out. The people have demanded royal gluttony of the highest caliber! A banquet!! Corsets!!! And I'm pleased to report I am nothing if not a man of the people.

But yeah, I got to writing and finished the short story earlier than even I expected, really. Admittedly I was starting from an old draft I had just left to rot on my desktop, so maybe it shouldn't come at too much of a surprise. FYI all the options in the poll were either old drafts or spicychat characters I wrote in the past (the game was rigged from the start (in YOUR favour)).

Ah, I should mention for transparency's sake: I did use a bit of AI for this one. Nothing you should be alarmed about, I'm just talking about giving the draft to gemini and asking it whether the flow of things was ok or not. Or maybe asking it if a sentence was worded weirdly, or if the dialogue sounded medieval enough, or maybe too medieval, that kind of thing.

I did take some of its suggestions, but overall it always ended up finding the story lacking!

Which I took it to mean it was probably fine and good enough to be read by others :)
