So the title might seem a little strange until I explain! ๐Ÿคฃ

I've been gifted soooooo many DVD's that my only option was to store them under my bed. They are nicely (and safely) tucked away under my mattrass where nobody can tamper with them. And when I say nobody I mean the kids ๐Ÿ˜… and when I say tamper I mean move them out of alphabetical order ๐Ÿ˜ก

Anyhoo! I was thinking we should have a poll every month to watch the movies hiding under the bed. Hence 'Under the Bed Poll'

For the first one I've chosen 8 movies completely at random but for the future UTB polls I'll use the same random generator I use for the monthly Patron Pick after I get them all added to a spreadsheet ๐Ÿ˜

Voting ends Thursday night (25th April)!

Youโ€™re going to need a bigger bedโ€ฆ

Ceryk

I thought it would be a horror poll eith Under the Bed as a title, lol

Bartleby

This is a fantastic idea for a poll! Because the options are genuinely random and it works its way through the many films youโ€™ve been sent. There are some legit classics here too. So looking forward to more of these polls!

Todd Hudson

How is it that I can hear in my mind exactly how you're going to pronounce "Boyz in the Hoooodt?"

Dag Einar Bergli

Why so many great movies in 1 poll? Pains my heart to exclude many of these.

THK

oh dawn, that is a mean poll. many of that films are good ones for different reasons. i guess on different days i would pick a different movie to watch.

Robert Inman

I guess I'll try to filter what I believe Dawn will like the best!

Bill Bryant

Awesome idea!!!! Going with Man on Fire, what a great movie!!! Hat's off to whoever sent that to you.

Elliot Nesterman

Taxi Driver is the film that made Scorsese's reputation as a world class director, and is one of De Niro's most memorable performances. Only Jodie Foster's fifth film, the 12 year old actress was nominated for an Oscar. It was also selected for inclusion in the National Film Registry as being historically, culturally, or aesthetically significant.

Louis Marzullo

Hard to believe what's leading the pack at present considering the other choices but still 2 days left.

Wreath35

Nice idea! Taxi Driver it's great.

JL Green

There are some incredible choices ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ I place my bid on Man On Fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ

james flack

Yeah, right, Dawn, kids don't know how to look under a mattress! ๐Ÿ™„ P.S. Maybe you should be looking under theirs. ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ“–

K Dub

Great random process resulting in difficult choices.๐Ÿค” I'll try to keep in mind what would make a "great reaction" video vs classic "must see mandatory" viewing movies.๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

Louis Marzullo

Dawn, can you just keep using the same method for UTB poll? Just get down there & start blindly grabbing from 8 or 9 different spots. All this talk of "random generators" & "spread-sheets" giving me the "corporate tech hives" ๐Ÿ˜„

K Dub

EXACTLY! ๐Ÿคฏ This shouldn't be that hard!๐Ÿฅด

Greg Kipp

Fun poll idea, and it does make sense now!

Richard Stokes

The film purist in me thinks I should vote taxi driver but purely because it's a bit of a laugh I must admit I've gone for big trouble in little china!

Zack Gallardo

This is the hardest poll yet IMHO

Louis Marzullo

And you can't go wrong with Kurt Russell if it goes that way, Richard! (Don't think Dawn will mind either ๐Ÿ˜‰)

James B.

Can't go wrong with The Mummy, either. I generally pick the lighter fare., though I went with American History X. this go round. I'll deviate if a movie has a few wtf moments that are good for a reaction.

Simon

Love this idea

rude alf mcglesga

List is too difficult... but,Man on fire for me...Denzel Washington is a class act and Dakota Fanning was an astonishing child actress, together, well brilliant.

Nope

There isn't a bad movie in the list. I picked Big Trouble cause it's the only one on the list that's just pure fun with literally zero depressing parts lol. The rest all try and have a "message" somewhere in there...yuck lol They are all great movies though!

Tim Foppiano

Man on Fire, and Training Day is true and raw examples of why Denzel rules his craft, and MAKES a movie!

john ruddick

Jack Burton is my spirt animal. Big Trouble any day.

Bartleby

@K Dub Those thoughts have never entered my mind. Itโ€™s entertainment and worthwhile to see Dawn watch a great film (regardless of the type of film) Dawn is entertaining enough of a personality that any reaction to anything she enjoys immediately becomes entertaining. The only time I would consider a film perhaps not being well suited for a reaction is if the film is just nonstop dialogue. With no breaks in the dialogue for any kind of commentary. But even then, I wouldnโ€™t necessarily not recommend that film either.

K Dub

I can understand that but for me its "cringeworthy" to watch when a film is taken or misunderstood out of context. And I wouldn't want that for her. Dawn's reactions are way better than most reactors imo. Just wishing her a full experience instead of the "confused..frustrated" Dawn reaction.

Bartleby

You must be a glutton for punishment then! Because Dawnโ€™s most repeated catch phrase is โ€œIโ€™m so confusedโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Mauler

Big Trouble is the only trve option when in a list. ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ–ค

Eric Kelly

You know what 'ol Jack Burton says on a dark and stormy night....

Eric Janssen

Am I the only geezer who remembers Big Trouble flopping in 80's theaters, because it was a flailing incoherent mess with mainstream audiences who weren't yet geek enough to have heard of A Chinese Ghost Story? (Like, someone else who might fit that description?)

Louis Marzullo

I do remember it getting critically panned for the most part at the time but wasn't aware it was a box-office flop. The "yet" in your comment was funny. There are "mainstreamers" who transition to "geekdom"?? I thought we were all born this way!! ๐Ÿ˜„

Bartleby

Why does any of that matter? Cult classics often donโ€™t do well initially and are often misunderstood by mainstream critics. Thatโ€™s why theyโ€™re cult classics.

Louis Marzullo

It doesn't "matter" but most people sometimes engage in ordinary conversation or "small-talk", none of which was at odds with your point about cult classics. It sounds like all 3 of us like the movie.
