Love that movie!👍

You want to give Tom Cruises a proper chance, then watch him in his two greatest performances! “Born on the Fourth of July” (1989) “Interview With the Vampire” (1994)

Until you’ve watched Tom Cruises’s performances in these two classic films, then frankly you’re just talking out of your arse when it comes to him.

"A Few Good Men" always felt underwhelming to me. The acting is good and there's some really snappy dialog. But it seems like it wants to be a suspense movie without an actual mystery. By the halfway point, you know what happened except for a few minor details, and the rest is just watching it play out. Still entertaining, but it felt like lost opportunity. Anyone else feel the same?

I kind of liken it to The Fugitive. They tell us what we need to know, when we need to know it. I feel it's not meant for us to figure out...just to enjoy watching how the protagonists figure it out.

That's a fair point, but The Fugitive does have a lot more action in it. For a courtroom drama, I crave the periodic release of new information throughout. My Cousin Vinny shows you the boys are innocent at the beginning, but slowly reveals to the audience new info with every witness, then has a big reveal at the end that (to me) feels much more satisfying. To its credit, A Few Good Men does build some tension about whether Jessup will take the bait or not, and his outburst is iconic. But I guess the half hour leading up to it feels pretty flat to me, and adding some mystery to that section could have taken it from a good movie to a great one.

I love to hate Tom Cruise. He just rubs me the wrong way. But his movies are so friggin entertaining. Oblivion, Edge of Tomorrow, magnolia, Minority Report, Jack Reacher, the Last Samurai, all very entertaining. Credit where credit is due.

Tom Cruise has supporting roles in Tropic Thunder and Magnolia. He's also less that sympathetic in both roles.

Has yoo-hoo shown up in another movie Dawn has reacted to? I feel like it's come up before. Maybe in a livestream.
