Operation Petticoat is a good one. Tony Curtis and Cary Grant. The People.vs Larry Flynt is an excellent movie. Woody Harrelson.

David Harvey

Robert DeNiro in "Cape Fear".

Bill W

Rob Roy [Tim Roth] There Will Be Blood (Daniel Day Lewis) Schindler's List [Ralph Fiennes] The Quick and the Dead [1995] (Gene Hackman) Out of the Furnace (Woody Harrelson) Sleepers (Kevin Bacon)

In the Company of Men (1997) may have slowed Aaron Eckhart's career down as he played this role too well.

Robert Jewell

Percy (Doug Hutchison) in The Green Mile. Have you seen that yet?

Bartleby

Lawrence Fishburn as Ike Turner in โ€œWhatโ€™s Love Got to Do With itโ€ (1993)

Bartleby

Glenn Close in โ€œFatal Attractionsโ€ (1987)

Bartleby

What are you talking about? That was his breakout role. That only led to bigger mainstream roles and helped make him a star

Bartleby

Matt Damon in โ€œThe Talented Mr. Ripleyโ€ (1999)

Jimmy Walker

Asa "Long Hair" Watts in the John Wayne movie "The Cowboys".

David Bennett

Abigail (2024), National Treasure, Megan (2023), American Ultra (2015), Choclate (thai film, 2009), O Brother, Where Art Thou, Mr Right (2016), Alita (2019), Silent Fall (1995),

Bartleby

Dennis Hopper as Frank Booth in โ€œBlue Velvetโ€ (1986)

Bob McFadden

Eric Roberts in โ€œStar 80โ€ (1983), based on the true story about the murder of a Playmate of the Year by her husband.

Louis Marzullo

Schindler's List, L.A. Confidential, Chinatown, Training Day, Play Misty For Me, Marathon Man & Raging Bull off the top of my head. This is very cool because these are all movies I've been dying for you to watch anyway!

Bartleby

Denzel Washington in โ€œTraining Dayโ€ (2001)

Zinphad

Nightcrawler (2014) and Louis Bloom.

MrDannySteele

Carter Burke from Aliens, played by Paul Reiser, it was great that he got exactly what was coming to him, but it happened off screen which is disappointing.

Jordan Love

Bill Murray in Kingpin (1996). Also, not a movie, but David Tennant in Jessica Jones.

Bartleby

Nicole Kidman in โ€œTo Die Forโ€ (1995)

Danny Noon

Joaquim de Almeida (Bucho) in Desperado

Danny Noon

Ralph finnes in Schindlers list

Artur Nienartowicz

Hating a character is no big deal. Most good actors can make us hate a repulsive character. Make a poll about repulsive roles played so well they made us "hate" the actor. My first memorable experience with Dennis Hopper was "Red Rock West" after which i wouldn't believe he was capable of playing a positive character. Same with David Carradine in "Lone Wolf McQuade". Or take Eric Roberts - a thoroughly sympathetic character in "The best of the best" (a must see), and a despicable villain in "Expendables" (and a few other movies); he plays just as great a law enforcer as a law breaker, as well as a few morally ambiguous roles (like "Runaway Train").

Bartleby

I believe in clarity and making things crystal clear for our lovely Dawn.

RX2904

One or two characters from Game of Thrones come to mind ๐Ÿ˜‚

Artur Nienartowicz

And I second the motion for DeNiro in "Cape Fear". With "Cape fear" however - the Nolte, De Niro version has Robert Mitchum who played De Niro's role in the original. Any by itself is a great movie, but it's a cinematic orgasm to see both and compare, especially the portrayal of the villain.

Jay Perry

Born Yesterday 1993. John Goodman made me hate him, for how he mistreated Mellanie Griffith.

Yorkshire Shaft

I know its a specific topic you've stated but few in this could qualify. I for one would love to see your Reaction to these I like and on the look out for them in polls. LEGEND 2015 Tom Hardy played a blinder as both twins. About the Kray Twins Gangster story. BAD BOYS Films has everything you want in a action film. CREEDS as I know you love the Rockys. OPERATION DAYBREAK 70's film was epic true story of the assassination of Hitlers right hand man. They remade it few years ago as anthropoid which was hugely similar vut Holywooded up to much for me. THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY with huge performances from multiple cast especially Ledger and your fave Oldman. Other mentions YOUNG GUNS films, Dumb and Dumber films, Me Myself and Irene, Deadpools, Starship Troopers first only feel they dropped hugely after the FIRST. The BLADE flims, The Great Escape if you haven't already quality old film. Seen you love monsters maybe King Kong by Peter Jackson opens up monstervirse for you with godzilla aswell. A Guilty conscience in monster Squad as a family friendly monster film. To many to mention but left a load I would like to see you watch which haven't even seen in the polls yet.

Louis Marzullo

Wouldn't it be more interesting to just name the film & let Dawn decide whom she hates, if anyone? We all know our Dawn Marie. Depending on the day & mood, Jack the Ripper could get a "I quite like him!" out of her! That's one reason many of us are here! ๐Ÿ˜†

VM Kane

For a habitually rather endearing comic actor playing pure unqualified evil, Richard Attenborough in '10 Rillington Place'. (Fair warning: this is a truly grim film.)

Danny Noon

True not seen anyone react to it, it's got Quentin Tarantino in aswell Dawns favorite

Al

Comedies:

Bill W

Yes. You can easily do a search here and on her Youtube channel.

Bartleby

I thought you were going to say Robin WIlliams in โ€œOne Hour Photoโ€

Chicago Artist Jon

MISERY with Kathy Bates - hands down number 1. CAPE FEAR, Robert DeNiro. The entire family in GET OUT. Really the entire town. That one might be more the story itself then the actors. Christoph Waltz INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, but Nazis are just easy to hate. And just for fun, the Dogo Sensei in KARATE KID.

Danny Noon

Tom cruise in Collateral, Dawn already hates him ๐Ÿคฃ

Alan Jones

Strangers on a Train. It's A-list Hitchcock, it's face-paced, it's engaging, and a villain like no other, played oh so stylishly by Robert Walker.

Bartleby

I could see Dawn fancying Robert Deniro in Cape Fear. I mean you canโ€™t argue with those muscles and charisma

Duke Pootentooter

Archibald Cunningham (Tim Roth) in "Rob Roy" LaVona Golden (Alison Janney) in "I, Tonya" Sack Lodge (Bradley Cooper) in "Wedding Crashers"

Robert Inman

Andrew Robinson as Scorpio in Dirty Harry (1971) ...young Clint Eastwood film

Calico Jack

Rutger Hauer in 1986 "The Hitcher".

Tic Toc Melody

De Niro in Cape Fear is a great choice. De Niro in "Mean Streets" is also a contender, what a f**kin' scumbag! ๐Ÿคฃ De Niro in "This Boy's Life".......De Niro in a lot of things!!! De Niro in "Raging Bull"! ๐Ÿคฃ

Tic Toc Melody

EXCELLENT choice, and my favorite Hitchcock. Alas, would it win a poll? Who knows, but it's worth doing, that's for sure!

Tic Toc Melody

The guy in Pans Labyrinth definitely fits the bill. Charles Boyer in "Gaslight", and John Cassavettes in "Rosemary's Baby". I'd say those are definitely on the short list of all-time scumbags!

Tic Toc Melody

.....I mean, Charles Boyer is so great in "Gaslight", everyone now says "gaslighting"! ๐Ÿคฃ

Tom Hartley

Lee J. Cobb as Johnny Friendly in โ€œOn the Waterfront.โ€

Billy B

Mia Goth is my favorite female actor these days . Sheโ€™s fantastic in these films . As she is in many more.

Tic Toc Melody

Here's a deep cut: Gregory Peck in "Duel In The Sun"!

Tic Toc Melody

I completely agree! The best way is to watch BOTH Cape Fears! The remake actually builds on the original, there are so many callbacks, starting with the score, and the cast in cameos. And Robert Mitchum is definitely as hateful as De Niro, they're both perfect.

Tic Toc Melody

With all due respect, if you're going to watch "Born Yesterday", you watch the original 1950 version with Judy Holiday! (I didn't even know there was a remake).

Louis Marzullo

In the books already, Celeste โ˜บ๏ธ (P.S.- Dawn thought Melanie had it coming ๐Ÿ˜†)

Nathan Wolff

Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho (2000)

Louis Marzullo

Spot on about Guy Woodhouse but Dawn's already seen it as a full-length Patreon exclusive reaction. Hoping for a YT edit someday. (P.S.- she liked the baby ๐Ÿคฃ)

Joe M

Leonardo DiCaprio as Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street. Daniel Day -Lewis as Daniel Plainview in There Will be Blood. Adam Sandler as Howard Ratner in Uncut Gems. Rosamund Pike as Amy Dunn in Gone Girl. Jake Gyllenhaal as Lou Bloom in Nightcrawler. Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds. Leonardo DiCaprio as Calvin Candie in Django Unchained (one of most despicable characters ever played in a movie. Canโ€™t wait for you to see it).

Roddy Hutchinson

The Thin Man 1934, Ben Hur, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Right Stuff, The French Connection, Miracle, just a to name a few

Louis Marzullo

Indeed! And he had what I'd vote for as the greatest single line ever spoken in an English-language movie.

BDev

Russell Crowe,The Insider

Marvin Just Marvin

Excalibur (1981) Slapshot (1977) What's Up Doc? (1972)

Manny

Kelly's Heros...Clint Eastwood.

Louis Marzullo

Something Wild, Hannibal, Fargo, Single White Female

Louis Marzullo

Oh, what a great choice with What's Up, Doc? She will hate him AND LHAO at the same time!!

Tic Toc Melody

Oh wow! That means I can watch it! I didn't realize there are movies that are exclusive to Patreon! Is there a master list or something? A tag? Or do I need just go and hunt? Thanks for the tip, I DEFINITELY want to see that reaction!!!!!

Tic Toc Melody

Oh Jon, DEFINITELY check that one out!!!! That's his first with Scorsese and pretty much the movie that put him on the map. And he did it the year before Godfather Part 2. He went from this wild performance in Mean Streets to that disciplined, restrained performance in Godfather Part 2. Major part of De Niro's career, just the juxtaposition of those two movies! He also did another movie in '73, where he plays a dim-witted Southern baseball player dying of cancer in the tearjerker "Beat The Drum Slowly". Again......completely different character. Three of them between 1973 and 1974. People were already going crazy for Dustin Hoffman and Jack Nicholson and Gene Hackman and Al Pacino and then De Niro comes on the scene with those three. Bam!

Patrick Dillon

Jason Isaacs in "The Patriot", the Mel Gibson American Revolution movie. He played a great villain, but he was not evil for evil's sake. Just extraordinarily ruthless in his ambition.

Louis Marzullo

Great choice but can't agree about that character. He did more than one evil thing that he didn't have to do because it gave him so much pleasure, not to advance his career or win the war.

K Dub

Django for a double shot of villain in the same movie Leonardo DiCaprio AND Samuel L. Jackson I๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿพ could only watch this EXCELLENT Tarantino film once. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

K Dub

Training Day with Denzel is so deliciously evil that I ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿพonly needed to watch it once in theatres and can't get myself to watch his Academy award๐Ÿ†turn again in fear of losing more sleep.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

Bartleby

@Tic Toc When you are on Dawn Marieโ€™s patreon, search the word โ€œExclusiveโ€ and all the Patreon exclusives will come up.

N M

CAPE FEAR - R. DeNiro

Patreot

โ€œNow, Voyagerโ€ The villain is the mom played by Gladys Cooper.

Grinznmore

The Elephant Man, 1980. Freddie Jones as Bytes. The showman who exploits John Merrick.

Grinznmore

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975). Louise Fletcher as Nurse Ratched. She got Best Actress for her performance.

Bill W

Unboxing?

Patreot

โ€œMeet John Doeโ€. The character DB Norton played by Edward Arnold.

Don Wagner

Leonardo DiCaprio in Django.

Roddy Hutchinson

Oh didn't read the post fully lol, Soviet Union lol, Red Line Cillian Murphy, hated the actor for a long time because of the character.

Dolf (a.k.a. Anders Ericsson)

Straw Dogs, the version of Peckinpah from the 70s. There are several unsavory characters in that one (Dustin Hoffman is not among the unsavory in it).

Louis Marzullo

Well, is there more to the story? Was he using those harvested organs to make a gonzo haggis & feed the poor of the East End? ๐Ÿ˜

Bartleby

@Dolf The thing about From Hell is, the graphic novel itโ€™s based on is a brilliant dark, brutal, esoteric, occult mystery. The film comes nowhere near what the book is. The plot is watered down into something far more conventional. And the most memorable bits of the film came directly out of the comic book. That being said, the movie is still very well shot, recreates grimy Victorian London immaculately! And has some amazing performances, including one of the best of his career from the legendary Ian Holme. From Hell is an amazing film, as long as youโ€™ve never read the graphic novel. Definitely a film more reaction channels should look at.

timeless_realm

Sorry if youโ€™ve these are repeats. Clockwork Orange, Joker, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, American History X, Cape Fear, The Devils Advocate, Se7en, Whiplash, There Will Be Blood, The Wicker Man, The Shining, Misery, The Hand That Rockโ€™s the Cradle.

Brian W

Robert Beaumont - The Ghost And The Darkness. The character doesn't get much screen time, but he's just so despicable that he doesn't need much screen time in order to hate him.

tkitez

Sleepers (1996), Rob Roy (1995), and Star 80 (1983).

Louis Marzullo

What a grand day that will be! I'll have to order some good take-out to make it complete! ๐Ÿ˜„

Jay Perry

Tic Toc Melody Don't knock it 'till you try it.

Rob Jones

The Night of the Hunter 1955 black and white Robert Mitchum crime thriller

Tommy Ivison

Gary Oldman, Bram Stoker's Dracula

Dag Einar Bergli

I'm confused...It's been a long time so I don't remember much from this movie, but isn't Crowe the hero under fire in this one..?

Tic Toc Melody

Oooooooo....."Star 80" is an EXCELLENT choice, wow. Been dying to see a reaction to that one. Not just any reactor, though! Cassie from Popcorn In Bed is not the reactor for that one, for instance! ๐Ÿคฃ But Dawn could handle it. Man, that's a GREAT choice. In general, would love to see reactions to All That Jazz or Lenny as well, Fosse is a totally underrated director.

Mark Crawford

Controversial, perhaps, but I've got to say it - Val Kilmer in THE DOORS

Ivan

Maximilian Schell playing as Captain Stransky in the 1977 ww2 film 'Cross of Iron'

Elliot Nesterman

"All About Eve" (1950) Anne Baxter as Eve Harrington is reprehensible, and Bette Davis's performance as Margo Channing is extraordinary. Both were nominated for Best Actress Oscars. The film was nominated for fourteen Oscars and won six: Best Picture; Best Director; Best Screenplay; Best Supporting Actor; Best Costume Design; and Best Sound Recording. The Best Actress winner that year was Judy Holiday for "Born Yesterday," a great comedy that should definitely go on your list.

Ted Little

I would suggest "Captain Blood" from 1935, which gives you two great villains: Lionel Atwood and Basil Rathbone.

John DiGiantomasso

Victor Maitland in Lethal Weapon or Arjen "Diplomatic Immunity!" Rudd from Lethal Weapon 2. Man, you hate those guys!

Tic Toc Melody

Ha! That's pretty funny! ๐Ÿคฃ It's true, of course. In real life, as well! Ha, thanks for the laugh, that's a totally valid choice for sure.....

Louis Marzullo

I think Maitland was the baddie in Beverly Hills Cop. Don't remember the dude's name in L.W., just his henchman, the "albino jack-rabbit", Mr. Joshua & I better shut up now.

Bill W

The actor in Lethal Weapon 2 was Joss Ackland. He was also the bad guy in Hunt for Red October, and the good guy Hans in Mighty Ducks. English actor playing South African, Russian and Swede. Likewise, English actor Steven Berkoff who played Victor Maitland also played the Russian Colonel in Rambo and Adolf Hitler in War and Rememberance.

Louis Marzullo

I know. I said I don't remember his boss' name. And Maitland was indeed the bad guy in Beverly Hills Cop, not Lethal Weapon. I'm right once in a while. ๐Ÿ˜

Bill W

Ok, my mistake. I was the one who was confused. I thought you were talking about the henchman from Lethal Weapon 2...who also did kung fu like Mr. Joshua. General Peter McCallister was Mr. Joshua's boss, played by Mitchel Ryan. He was also Minnie Driver's dad in Grosse Point Blank, Jim Carrey's boss in Liar Liar, and Greg's dad in Dharma & Greg. He was the mining executive in High Plains Drifter too.

Louis Marzullo

Welcome to my world! I didn't see M. Ryan in any of those others except High Plains Drifter but that was quite a few election cycles ago. Vaguely remember him looking a little like Keith Morrison from Dateline (Matthew Perry's step-dad). Better stop there before I digress myself into oblivion. Thanks for the info!

Simon

Elijah Wood in Sin City.

Louis Marzullo

Oh! "The Third Man". Prob'ly too late. And "The Devil Wears Prada". Never saw but seems pretty obvious choice.

Brian O'Grady

Mutiny on the Bounty, with Charles Laughton brilliantly playing the cruel Captain Blythe.

DawnMarieAnderson

๐Ÿ˜” unfortunately A24 are dishing out the copyright strikes trying to take channels down so I don't think these will be an option just now. A Patreon Exclusive though!

John DiGiantomasso

Right. Victor Maitland was Beverly Hills Cop. My bad. Been a while since I saw either franchise. Joss Ackland was also the baddie Victor Landbergh in Miracle on 34th Street (1994).

Louis Marzullo

Of course!! But Bill probably won't like what I order. Come to think of it, you might not either! ๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿค๐Ÿœ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Louis Marzullo

Well, this was surely a treat to wake up to! Now don't be a stranger, ya hear?? ๐Ÿ˜„

Bill W

Leave it in the ocean! We'll go to Dog Day Afternoon..on me.

Bill W

I agree Dawn. Also, I didn't hate the character. He was interesting.

Bill W

"But ya AAAAARRRE, Blanche! Ya AAAARRRRE in shackles!" - Costanza

Carol Rocha

PRIMAL FEAR! Edward Norton

Patreot

โ€œMeet John Doe,โ€ one of my choices, is public domain, btw. It lost its copyright back in 1969.

Louis Marzullo

OMG, how did I forget?? THE DEPARTED!!

CinWin

Denzel Washington: Training Day Robert DeNiro: Cape Fear, The Fan Al Pacino: Scarface Ralph Fiennes: Schindler's List John Travolta/Nicolas Cage: Face Off Glenn Close: Fatal Attraction Kathy Bates: Misery Anjelica Huston: Ever After (her dancing eyebrows drove me nuts) Robin Williams: One Hour Photo Viggo Mortensen: G.I. Jane McCaulay Culkin: The Good Son

CinWin

I didn't see the original but Born Yesterday was remade in 1993 with John Goodman, Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. Very cute movie.

Elliot Nesterman

The original is head and shoulders above the remake. It was nominated for five Oscars and four Golden Globes, Holiday winning Best Actress in both, and has been inducted into the National Film Registry. The remake is an object lesson in why it is rarely a good idea to remake a great film.

Tom Grassia

Crispin Glover: River's Edge
