Here we go! Just a reminder that if your suggestion isn't on here it's very likely I already have it lined up to watch soon. If you have some future poll suggestions let me know in the comments. I'll do some runner up polls (movies that didn't quite make it from previous polls) but other than that I just kinda make them up as I go 😅 so if you have any ideas that would be grand!

John Lawton

Many good films here, but any serious student of cinema must see “The Third Man.”

Louis Marzullo

9 choices! Yes! (My favorite number 😆) Now... how many times will I change my vote?? 🤔

Louis Marzullo

Poll: Breakout role for a female actor (Bartleby's idea). Dawn Marie, you had to know this day would come! 🤣

Danny Noon

Best sports movie poll?

Danny Noon

Best cop movie poll?

Glenda Kennedy

I would also suggest the character Percy in The Green Mile for most hated.

Danny Noon

Best Doomsday (end of the world) poll?

Bartleby

Some suggestions for future polls. Period piece War movie whose main character is not a soldier Best child performance Family drama Animation Poll Oscar Winning Performance Poll Monster Poll Best production design/art directed movie Movies with an animal as the main character. Best use of color in a movie Pre-20th century set films Movies with a senior citizen (over 65) as the main character 80s Sci-fi/ Horror/ Fantasy (The 80s being a specially creative and thriving time for genre films)

Duke Pootentooter

Poll ideas: - Stop-motion animation - Femme fatale - Ridiculous funny old mannies - Director's first film

Dag Einar Bergli

Training Day or Desperado. Desperado or Training Day. Sophie's choice.

Bartleby

Why don’t we just pull out her fingernails with a hammer while we’re at it! Or what would be even more torturous for Dawn! Chick Flick Poll!!!! 😂

Bartleby

While I agree with the sentiment, I still think Dawn’s first introduction to actually seeing Orson Welles in a movie should be Citizen Kane Call me old fashioned. And I say “see” as she just heard Welles in Transformers.

Chicago Artist Jon

How about a Chick Power poll. Gals kickin' @ss and takin' names. All About Eve, Erin Brockovich, Hidden Figures, Underworld, Fargo, Million Dollar Baby would be some good ones.

JL Green

With all due respect to the Cape Fear remake, Training Day sent Denzel into the stratosphere of next level bad guys.

Bill W

F*ck.

Bill W

Even without Rob Roy I'd pick several others ahead of Cape Fear and nothing is even close.

Louis Marzullo

Movies wherein a major star is nearly or totally unrecognizable. I have an obvious one in mind that would make Dawn's head go KA-BOOM!! 🤯

ShadowVessel π

Unfortunately, you've already seen A Knight's Tale. Rufus Sowell made me hate him in every role he ever played after that. 😂

Louis Marzullo

Doesn't matter to me. I have to really like the reactor & the movie so I've only seen a couple.

Bill W

Same here, but I'm hoping for a film reaction I haven't seen already.

John Lawton

Actually, Citizen Kane might be a good candidate for this particular poll too! In any case, she’s got to be introduced to the zither someday!

Bill W

Stop trying to spin it. Just let me be annoyed! 😁 Cape Fear is great...just not the one I've been hoping for.

Tic Toc Melody

Great poll!!!! Love that "Baby Jane" made the list! I think The Third Man is better after a person has seen at least Citizen Kane and knows who Orson Welles is, for obvious reasons to those who have sen it. (and Joseph Cotten for that matter). Alas, Cape Fear has a handy lead......and I can't wait to see THAT reaction!!!!

Bartleby

If you’re thinking Tropic Thunder, Dawn still needs to see Platoon and The Deer Hunter first.

Bill W

Salt (Angelina Jolie), Haywire (Gina Carano), V for Vendetta (Natalie Portman), What's Love Got To Do With It (Angela Basset), Messenger (Milla Jovovich), Destroyer (Nichole Kidman), To Die For (Nicole Kidman), The Client (Susan Sarandon), Sicario (Emily Blunt), Aeon Flux (Charlize Theron). I could be mistaken but I think Dawn has seen Million $ Baby.

Bill W

On second thought, scratch 'Messenger'. Dawn will hate her.

Alvin Helms

I voted for 'Rob Roy' because it was the first film I ever saw Tim Roth in, and it made me hate him so much that to this day I can't help hating him in *every* part he plays, even when he's not supposed to be a villain.

Eric Janssen

I know it’s in the middle votes, but some of us 80’s survivors still don’t warm to Glenn Close after “Fatal Attraction”. 🐰🍯

Mannygogou

Oh I like the trend of future poll theme suggestions, here's mine: "Movie with best acrobatics, flips in the air... and bonus points if they're using guns of some type somewhere... like exploding bullets!" heh he... Movie has to have at least one flip in the air. This combines 3 things - physical stunt work used for awesome effect - long range weaponry, aiming while in motion - and explosions like gunpowder to shoot projectiles or energy beam or actual explosions. All combined in physical poetry in motion with a hero in the center. Elevates the human condition as master of their environment.
