Great reaction. I am so glad you enjoyed Planet of the Apes. As I mentioned before you really must also see Alien (1979) before Spaceballs. Spaceballs has a huge Alien SPOILER. During breaks in filming, actors made up as different ape species tended to hang out together, gorillas with gorillas, orangutans with orangutans, and chimps with chimps. It wasn't required, it just naturally happened. The "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil" gag was entirely ad-libbed on the set on the day of shooting. It was kept in because people found it amusing when the film was threatening to get too serious. This is one of the first films to have a major large-scale merchandising tie-in. Merchandise related to the film included toys and collectibles, action figures, picture and story books, trading card sets, books, records, comics, and a series of graphic novels from Marvel Comics. When adjusted for inflation, the movie holds the world record for the highest make-up budget (then $345,542), which represented about 17% of the total budget ($2 million). Original Series: Planet of the Apes (1968) Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971) Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972) Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973) Planet of the Apes (1974 TV Series – 14 Episodes) Return to the Planet of the Apes (1975 Animated TV Series – 13 Episodes) Planet of the Apes (2001 Remake) Reboot Series: Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) Yes, I had a crush on Nova 😍💖

Oh no! I forgot about watching Alien first and I watched Spaceballs today 🙈 I can't think of anything that would have been from an alien movie so I hope I haven't spoiled it. Aww Lee thanks again for your comment and I'll also be taking a screenshot of this to keep me right with the order of the movies! Going by comments, I think everyone had a crush on Nova 😂

The animated TV show does not follow the continuity of the movies (or the previous TV show) and is basically treated as a separate entity by most "Apes" fans.
