i would like to see movies which highlight the ethnicities of various folk .. for instance - Train Spotting - is (i assume) a wonderful representation of the Scotch folk. - Austin Powers - movies give an honest description of normal life in England. - Idiocracy - is a faithful illustration of politics and life in the USA. (ps .. is this the right place for a random post? . i feel there must be a place for random posts, but it isn't obvious to me where it might be.)

*Scotch is a brand of adhesive tape or type of whisky. Scottish is a nationality of people. (or Scots)

Shawn Goforth

Idiocracy is comic satire, and is in no way a faithful illustration of our life or value system in the states. Also, it is one of the least comedic comedies I have ever seen.

Bartleby

He was making a joke. Austin Powers isn’t a typical day in England either. That being said, “Idiocracy” is a phenomenal comedy that has only gotten better and more relevant with age.

Tim Boxall

Glad to see the '80s won - please do give The Burbs a shot! Great Tom Hanks comedy, and one that seems to have slipped by every other reactor! Also recommend Midnight Run - De Niro in true sardonic comedy form...

Robert Reichle

It's too relevant. About every week, I see something on TV or hear someone say something, then turn to my wife and say, Idiocracy is here...

lol . yeh .. i know .. i wasn't speaking seriously. (If Brits are British and not Britsh, the same goes for Scots) I guess too many folk use Scotch instead of Scottish for it to be an obviously deliberate error.

Wow some very surprising suggestions.
