Pat Cecil

a really well made series, very good indeed

Thank you Dawn for watching and posting this on the 79th anniversary of the Day of Days. This was real and is, I believe, why all of us share the freedoms we do. Without the sacrifice and courage of the greatest generation who knows what this world we exist in would be like ❤️

This is a series I heard very good things about but never got around to watching. Now watching it with you as our guide will make it an even more enjoyable experience. I thought your outro was one of the best you've ever done. Thank you so much Dawn..

Hi Dawn. Coming from an age when actual air and ground invasion could have come with almost no warning, I keep a survival kit in the apartment closet, close to the door, and one in the trunk of my car. Includes things like water purification, a tent, a few days of dehydrated food, knife, a trauma med kit, paracord and fire starter and some other things. Better to have it and never need it than to need it and not have it. Some things you can prepare for easily and some take special training to see how you would react in tense situations, such as under fire. That is why basic training in the military was so harsh and why special forces training still is and then some.

Hello Dawn, I was a paratrooper in 82nd (a rival to the division this series follows lol) and I have always loved this show. A few things to note: the company this follows is very famous and all the things shown are kept as close as possible to what they actually went through, the planes do indeed have to fly under a certain speed for the people to be able to jump safely, the parachutes open from a cord attached to a cable in the plane so that they can jump as low as possible (this is to reduce the time in the air floating down which like you pointed out is very dangerous), the objective of paratroopers is take key positions behind enemy lines so as to facilitate an invasion (in the case of Normandy it was to destroy fixed artillery, capture key crossroads necessary for tanks and other armor moving up from the beach, and other objectives) modern paratroopers would take take over something like an air strip so troops and armor can be flown in. It's an excellent excellent show and I enjoy your wonderful reactions. Would like to recommend the mini series Lonesome Dove as well (it's an excellent western I'm sure you'll love).
