GREAT Story.. Great acting and Direction... R.I.P. Pete Postelhwaite....Jim Sheridan rocks.. Like this? watch his autobiographical masterpiece IN AMERICA.. Daniel Day is arguably our GREATEST living actor. Like him here then check out MY LEFT FOOT (also directed by Jim Sheridan) and THERE WILL BE BLOOD... Both a MASTERCLASS in acting...

I’d like to see that Dawn. The google randomized selection of patron movies. That’d be a fun thing to show and share here on Patreon. If you can screen record the selection process and post that here to Patreon and that’s how we see what the winner is, that’d be a lot of fun. And there are many randomizer selection tools available online to pick something visually interesting for the process.

Louis Marzullo

Love that you had no idea who Daniel Day-Lewis is before this film. Will make the journey through his roles that much more exciting & interesting! Bill the Butcher is waiting for you, Dawn... BWAHAHAHA!!🔪😁

Louis Marzullo

That is the first "boo-boo" face I've ever seen you make in a photo. Breakin' my heart!💔😂

Simon

I like this idea. I don't need to see the randomizer though 😁

Bartleby

I would like to see what’s on the board and the potential picks of patrons that are on the table.

Bill W

The randomizer just selects the Patron. Then Dawn DMs the Patron to find out their movie choice.

Bartleby

Look at the new tiers. A higher tier says it comes with two entires for the patron pick. There’s be no point for that if it’s just you as an individual.

Bill W

So Dawn puts all our names in a hat. The higher tier gets their name in the hat twice, so they have better odds at being picked. I assume my name will be removed now. That's how I interpreted it.

Bartleby

I think you’re right. I interpreted it another way, But I suppose it is simply the name entered twice. The other way would be a hell of a lot more work.

Bartleby

The actor who played Giuseppe was Pete Postlethwaite. You last saw him as the lawyer for Keyser Soze in “The Usual Suspects”

Bartleby

She saw Daniel Day-Lewis in The Last of the Mohicans way back remember. Back towards the beginning of the channel.

Bill W

It was my great pleasure. I look forward to other interesting picks from discerning patrons. 😀

Bill W

We've all heard Dawn say "Aww, I'm gonna cry." but as far as I know this is the first time she actuall did. 😥

Bill W

He had a small part in Last of the Mohicans with DDL. He was one of Colonel Munro's officers, along with Irish actor Colm Meaney.

Bill W

Absolutely the greatest. Loved him in everything.. Lincoln, The Boxer, The Crucible, The Bounty, Gangs of NY...

Bill W

From the instant that first shot rings out and Hendrix blasts through the speakers, this film holds your undivided attention. DDL as usual ceases to be DDL and simply becomes the character. Emma Thompson brings some soft humor and hope to this cold and gritty tale. And if you don't fall in love with Postlethwaite's 'Giuseppe" you are dead inside. Smart direction, creative cinematography and great score. Wonderful perfomances from everyone- John Lynch (as Paul Hill), the Conlon family, the hippies, the English detectives, the prisoners. Perfect film.

Louis Marzullo

Right but she didn't recognize him in this film, didn't realize he was Gerry Conlon, so it's kinda like she just "discovered" him now, no? And as I'm writing, just realized Dawn's never done a Meryl Streep film!!😱Where would she begin?? If she started with Sophie's Choice, she'll never watch her again!😭

Louis Marzullo

That Train to Busan is finally arriving in October!! Got it from a very reliable source. Think we may see some "strange, salty discharge" from Dawn then, too. (Bill, I know you will get that reference; others who don't may be gasping in horror as they read it!)

Louis Marzullo

That last shot of Giuseppe being taken out upright where you only see his head, struggling to breathe, will haunt me for a long time😭

DawnMarieAnderson

Yeah, it's what Bill W said, but your name won't be removed after you're chosen. As long as you're in one of the following tiers (Big Fat Play, Big Fat Credits or Big Fat Shout Out) you'll be entered every month (twice in fact if you're in the Credits or Shout Out tier!).

Bartleby

Uh… no? Once she looked him up and her memory was jogged of having seen him in Last of the Mohicans, that still remains her introduction to the actor and his work. Or are you equating a rediscovery of Daniel Day-Lewis to like the Madonna song, Like a Virgin. It’s so special it’s like the very first time again? As far as Meryl Streep, I’ve recommended Dawn watch “The Bridges of Madison County” a couple times. A deeply moving film neglected by the movie reaction channels. And it’d give her a rare chance to see Clint Eastwood’s softer side.

Bill W

Pete did a phenomenal job portraying aging and sickly. The cries from the Jamaican prisoner and flaming tissues were both heartwarming and heartbreaking. "GERRY, MAN! DEY KILT GIUSEPPE!"

Louis Marzullo

Yep, you more or less answered your own question, Sam. That's why I put "discovered" in quotes. Dawn didn't know which role DDL was playing in this film & she didn't remember him from Mohicans. So did she "know" him already? Technically, I guess she did. But now she KNOWS him- name, face, signature role, all connected... Madison County a good choice for a Streep-starter. I'd go with Doubt. Let's have a poll!
