Nice movies:)

I would suggest watching another Dustin Hoffman movie, you loved him in "Rain Man" and he is one of the very best actors, very dedicated, almost too much, in the past he was rumored to be difficult to work with because of his striving for perfection all the time, one of his earliest was "The Graduate" an adult darkish comedy/ love story, another is "Papillion" long, but paired with another great actor, Steve McQueen, one of his best, or even "Little Big Man" a quirky western comedy, kind of a cult film.

Hmmmm....Putting the 3rd, 27th and the 30th on my schedule!

Retro Maven

Animal Crackers...Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!! 😆

JL Green

Woo Hoo, hope I get to have a say in the unannounced upcoming flick. 😀

Louis Marzullo

You're following up best week of movies with best month!

Bartleby

Yay!!!! Escape From the Planet of the Apes!!! And when you do Blade Runner make sure it’s The Final Cut. Director Ridley Scott has completely disowned the original theatrical cut because of massive studio interference. The cut of Blade Runner embraced by fans and the director himself, is The Final Cut

Bartleby

Straw Dogs… There’s a hell of a performance from Dustin Hoffman no movie reaction channel has touched

Bill W

More Hoffman: Outbreak, Wag The Dog and Little Big Man. (We know Dawn loves westerns, although it's part Western, part Civil War) And part of an ensemble cast... Sleepers. He was awesome in that. I would recommend his role in Messenger too, but I dare not introduce religion into this comment section.

Bill W

Helluva month. Hopefully the Patreon Pick holds up.

Björn Karlsson

How about another swedish movie? 🤗🤗 Like "Show me love"? 🥹🥹🥹

Bartleby

And she needs to see The Graduate before she can watch Wayne’s World 2. That along with The Doors.

Louis Marzullo

For what it's worth, I have no problem with the topic, Bill. You can address it to me anytime. I'm a former Roman Catholic priest

Bartleby

Unlike Apocalypse Now, the theatrical cut of Blade Runner is not the cut of the film that made an impact and became a classic. It was when the alternative cuts began to emerge that corrected some of the blunders of the theatrical cut that elevated the film into classic status. And The Final Cut is the most refined and polished cut director Ridley Scott has given his blessing.

Michael Hartsell

Congratulations Dawn, you picked two bangers this month with "The Godfather" and "Unforgiven", the rest is pretty much shit but I'll take what I can get at this point.

Travis Starnes

I'm pumped you doing clerks and hopefully getting into the virwaskewnavers (the series of movies from Kevin Smith with Jay & silent bob). They're silly and great. Also some other actually very good movies. Glory is going to be great.

Bill W

@Bartelby Oh yeah, I forgot about the Charlton Heston scene.

Bill W

@Louis I meant- just by the film being included on this channel, it's bound to light up the comment section. And not in a good way.

Bill W

I think the only Swedish film I've ever seen is King Of Devil's Island. And some of the Wallander series. (My mom used to watch it when it ran on PBS years ago)

Eric Janssen

Don’t worry, Escape From the Planet of the Apes is BETTER than Beneath. Most of them are…Nice to see you getting back on the horse. It’s also a lot more fun, but the next one, however…. 😨

Björn Karlsson

Havent you seen "The girl...trilogy"? 🙂 Some channels have done reaction to them 🙂 There are some great directors from Sweden. Like Lukas Moodysson (Show me love etc), Kjell Sundvall and Ulf Malmros 🙂

Bartleby

Oh yeah, and a reminder Dawn. When you post the announcements on the YouTube community tab of your channel, remember to signify the Patreon Exclusives as PE’s. That way YouTube subscribers aren’t left with blue balls and know to sign up if they want to see the Exclusives.

Louis Marzullo

That's so funny. My cousins in Rome say the exact same thing about Fellini, use the same word, "heavy" ("pesante") 😄

Bill Bryant

Nice lineup! Looking forward to a few of those, especially The Abyss, The Godfather, The Dirty Dozen. Most important of the 3 would have to be The Godfather, and personally I like part 2 better than part 1, so I hope you'll consider continuing that series.

Simon

Awesome month. Really looking forward to Superman 2

Louis Marzullo

Hmm. I'm not sure there's such a thing as lighting up a comment section in a not good way, unless one's intention is to provoke violence. Some people will always be prone to saying hateful things, especially armed with the anonymity of the internet. I don't think we should worry too much about what might trigger them. Joan of Arc is one of the more fascinating historical figures, a more than worthy subject whatever one's religious views. And I've never seen it but I'm pretty sure it's not the kind of film that could incite violence, even among fanatics of either extreme (pro- or anti-religion). As in "Breaking the Waves", the "is she a genuine mystic or just schizophrenic?" question is probably left to the viewer to answer for themselves. So, why not?

Love the movie list this month! I only wish people wouldn't jump straight into "Unforgiven" (dir. Clint Eastwood) without seeing some of Eastwood's earlier Hollywood westerns, directed by himself, like: "The Outlaw Jose Wales" (1976)-- "High Plains Drifter" (1973)-- or "Pale Rider" (1985). The Dollars trilogy is a great place to start but those movies don't really lead into "Unforgiven" like the others I mentioned, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong. This isn't a complaint. I like the movies chosen on this channel. Just a commentary.

Bartleby

I agree. Unforgiven is a more satisfying and cathartic experience after having seen Eastwood’s various other westerns from his youth. The clamoring for Unforgiven by the normie unwashed masses is just too great. It is what it is.

Bartleby

Dawn, I think you said you had a western guy who was keeping you straight. He’s failed you in this instance.

Björn Karlsson

Yeah she will like that trilogy 🙂 But I think she will love "Show me love" aka "Fcuking Åmål". The best coming-of-age movie ever made imo. 🥰🥰🥰

Joshua White

Stopped in to make sure this was discussed. What a disappointment it would have been for all parties involved if she'd gone with the theatrical cut.
