Glad you are back home

Bartleby

We’re pleased as punch to have you back Dawn!! We’re all understanding if you need to take your time getting back into the swing of things.

Louis Marzullo

Not going to mention the typo, not going to mention the typo, not going to mention... 😵‍💫

Bartleby

My own personal grammar editor! My pal…. (Saying in my head like Spanky from Our Gang)

Louis Marzullo

We're in for the long haul, Dawn Marie. Of course we'll bear with you. Or dog, or cat, or elephant, or horse, or cow... 😝

Louis Marzullo

Haha! You & Bill are such good sports to put up with my OCD (it used to be alot worse). Btw, I messaged Dawn a while back about the "Our Gang" shorts for someday down the road. Guessing you're a fan also?

Bartleby

The fact that I referred to them as “Our Gang” and not “The Little Rascals” alone should let you know.

Jordan Love

Yay for you and yay for Clerks! Where's that double "like" button?

Mark Crawford

Good to hear you're home and on the mend... I really enjoyed seeing your reaction to one of my favourite films, Clerks. To be fair, its very particular humour is probably best appreciated in a cinema filled with people rolling in the aisles. Watching it alone makes it harder to catch the vibe. Anyway, I look forward to future reactions to more 1990s US indie cinema - so many gems to be found there... Oh, and lol at "fannies".

Brandon Williams

I think you needed a little bit of context for this movie, such as it was made for (I believe) $24,000 (and that is why is not in colour). There IS a Clerks 2 (and 3), but there is also other movies that come before it (Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, etc.). This is the only one in B&W. And all the best on your recovery!

james flack

Welcome home, Dawn. Too bad your first reaction video is to the film "Clerks". Humor has come a long way since the Marx Brothers, maybe not always for the best. I can say this because I am a left-over relic from the first half of the last century.......People, please be gentle with any rebuttals. (my heart, you know). 👴

Bill W

This was Kevin Smith's (the film's writer/producer/director and Silent Bob) first film. He spent $27,000 of his own money to produce it and set it in the convenience store where he actually worked. He cast friends, family and acquaintances in the roles. He met Jason Mewes (Jay) while working at a youth center and they bonded over comic books. Smith sold much of his comic book collection to raise money for the film.

Jordan Love

In order it's: Clerks Mallrats Chasing Amy Dogma Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Clerks II Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Clerks III I think you're really gonna like Mallrats and you're gonna love Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Chasing Amy didn't age very well but it's kind of important to Jay and Silent Bob's storyline. There's also Clerks: The Animated Series, but that was canceled after airing only 2 of their 6 episodes (out of order). It was actually pretty brilliant if you grew up on Saturday morning cartoons in the 80s and have an esoteric knowledge of New Jersey. Otherwise it's just kinda funny.

Louis Marzullo

Dogma: Salma Hayek erotic bikini dance, part 2. And no Tarantino foot-in-mouth disease to ruin it!

Bill W

Louis, not one my favorite films, but jeez.. Salma Hayek, Linda Fiorentino and 90s Janeane Garofalo. (need to specify which era Garofalo. The other 2 dolls are timeless)

Michael Hartsell

Just simply say it sucked like I told you it sucked weeks ago. As long as you listen to dumbasses like Sam Spade do not expect things to improve. You are the one that has to set through this stupid crap not me.

Louis Marzullo

I agree about the film. It was a mess but it had all these incredible talents from different arts! And a big "D'accordo" to Fiorentino & 90's Janeane (Jeannie Steinman. Hey, same initials!). How about "The Last Seduction" for Dawn's list?? And "The Ben Stiller Show"

Michael Hartsell

Hey Sam, just so you don't look like a dumber ass than you actually are and that's pretty fucking dumb. "The Little Rascals" and "Our Gang" are completely different TV shows, with completely different kids.

Mike Phillippie

This was a hell of a lot funnier when I was high as all hell in high school....I must say! However, lol, I did laugh pretty hard at your reaction to it. Awesome reaction! Hope you're feeling better!

Bartleby

Because I feel like she’s in the general arena of hourglass bodies and top notch boobage, how about Carla Gugino in Sin City. Dawn has the blu ray sitting right there in her collection. Saw it in the photos. That’ll be a fun reaction for sure.

Louis Marzullo

That flick was loaded with female eye candy, too. Carla, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, the Asian girl... I'm forgetting some 🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬 👀

Louis Marzullo

Well, Dawn Marie has managed yet another remarkable first with this reaction: No one, & I mean NO ONE, has ever mentioned "2001: A Space Odyssey" & "Clerks" in the same sentence before! She's back, baby! 😂

timeless_realm

No rush. Please don't feel pressured. Your reviews are the best on YT and your style is absolutely fantastic!

Bartleby

I think it was the 90s indie art house sensibility that threw her. Maybe she should watch Do the Right Thing.

Louis Marzullo

Heh heh, that would certainly be a 180. But how about your earlier pick, "Friday"? I think that would give Dawn the sore face & sides she's craving, especially post-illness

Simon

Glad you're home. Look after yourself!

ShadowVessel π

I was working at a convenience store when this came out so I friggin LOVE it. Lol Still holds up, too...no matter what some people think. I would suggest watching Mallrats (the theatrical cut), Chasing Amy (it's even more relevant today), Dogma, Jersey Girl (which isn't tied to Jay and Silent Bob, but made by Kevin Smith), and Zack and Miri Make a Porno (also no Jay and Silent Bob, but Seth Rogan). Everything else Smith made sucks.

Bartleby

I’m not thinking about post illness conditions. I’m just talking about getting acclimated to the particular indie style of filmmaking that we saw in Clerks but is also seen in Do The Right Thing. It was interesting hearing Dawn trying to put her finger on something she couldn’t quite name. Friday is good and a funny comedy, but it is not the same style of indie filmmaking that Clerks and Do the Right Thing are. Not worried about post-illness viewing. She’s already got Unforgiven and Apocalypse Now on the docket. Not exactly the best movies for one’s mood just coming out of the hospital. So it is what it is. Maybe the power of great filmmaking will elevate her above her illness!

Bartleby

And that she’s calling 2001 A Space Odyssey and Clerks the strangest movies she’s ever seen… Can’t wait till Dawn dips her toes into the world of surreal arthouse filmmakers. I mean she still hasn’t seen any films from David Cronenberg or David Lynch! Which is why she’s saying Clerks and 2001 are the strangest movies she’s ever seen.

Michael Hartsell

Say what you really mean pussy. I'm a big boy no need for a diagnosis. Now don't run and hide after making a smartass comment like chicken shit Sam Spade.

Michael Hartsell

Louis you should have went to medical school instead being the total loser you became. What do you do set in your one bedroom apt. and play on Patreon all day on the tax payers dime? I'm retired living the good life if you're wondering.

Louis Marzullo

Aww, what happened snowflake, did I hit a nerve? I've said it so many times, Mike but since you're so obtuse, here it is again: YOU'RE A FUCKING ANTI-SOCIAL FREAK WHO NEEDS PROFESSIONAL MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, STAT!! And yeah, I'm breaking the "Goldwater Rule". If you were living such a "good life" you wouldn't be the rude, hateful, piece of shit punk bitch you are on this platform, hiding like a coward behind the First Amendment. I'm a full-time caregiver for my 93-year old Mom, Mike. Why don't you try finding a friend or two & get off that property your parents left you once in a while? Happy Thanksgiving, dick-head

Michael Hartsell

Louis let's make a truce seeing that it's the beginning of the holiday season, what do you say? I agree I will stop now sending silly insults to a person I don't know anything about, if you will do the same. With that said when I say something to Dawn that you may take offence to, stay out of it. She is a big girl and most of the time I'm just busting her balls so to speak. Hell dude at least your taste in movies is better than Sam Spade alias trans Bartleby and those types on here.

Bartleby

I told you to try behaving like a man for once in your life and not a vain little girl. If you can’t listen to good advice, what do you want me to do about it? Keep up your antics little princess. They’ve become so boringly predictable. You’re free to say what you want. What you’re not entitled to is my time or the demand that I roll around in the mud with the local oaf.

Michael Hartsell

Too bad Dawn hated it as I knew she would, some of us out here have more than a 14 yr old brain. You must be kin to Sam Spade alias Bartleby

Bartleby

One of the hottest of the Sin City girls there in Old Town (the one dressed like a sexy cowgirl) is actually Robert Rodriguez’s sister. Frank Miller actually pointed her out as smokin hot and asked Rodriguez who she was. Awkward moment followed when Rodriguez explained that it was his sister LOL

Michael Hartsell

Well Sam you can shut the fuck up and then die. You asked for it and you're going to get it, so buckle up buttercup. Some people just get under your skin ya know. And you my friend are the worst, talks as if he knows everything but in real life knows absolutely nothing about anything. Anytime Anywhere!!

Bartleby

Whatever you say little princess. You’re entitled to the world and everything in it! Because you’re such a pretty girl aren’t you? I think that other guy was right. You’re in desperate need of a nap.

Louis Marzullo

Honestly, I thought your "Do the Right Thing" suggestion was meant to steer Dawn in a totally opposite direction from "Clerks"!! 😄 I only saw that particular Spike Lee Joint once, in '89 in the theater but never thought of it as a low-budget, indie art-house type film. The "Friday" idea was just prompted by figuring Dawn could use a silly, simple LOL comedy to watch on her own time as she recovers. Funny you brought up D. Lynch. When she mentioned the strangeness of 2001 & Clerks, I thought "OMG, what would happen if she ever watched 'Eraserhead'??" 🤣 I guess we were on the same wavelength on that one!

Bartleby

See what you’ve gone and done Dawn?! You’ve upset everyone’s favorite little princess by watching a movie he didn’t approve of! Do you realize how offensive this is?! We love out little princess! He’s the most cleverest and prettiest in the whole wide world! A very delicate little princess too. When you upset the bestest little princess in the world, well buckle up for the biggest, nastiest hissy-fit you could ever imagine! Oh and little princess, I never once mentioned Clerks or recommend it to her before her watching it. So most of the time you’re just talking out of your ass and you have no idea what you’re saying. But we already knew that about you didn’t we.

Bartleby

Spike Lee definitely came out of the world of DIY, indie filmmaking. Do the Right Thing was his second film. Still got a lot of that indie style to it. As Clerks does. Like in Clerks when there’s a montage of actors looking directly into the camera and saying something for a comedic clip. There’s a similar type of montage in Do the Right Thing Various actors looking directly into the camera saying something for a collage of characters clip. Referring to stylistic stuff like that. And as far as David Lynch, “Eraserhead” would NOT be the first Lynch film I’d suggest for Dawn. LOL I really think “Blue Velvet” fits the bill perfectly as an introductory film to Lynch’s work. It has the mainstream veneer on the surface with all of Lynch’s weirdness bubbling underneath, occasionally popping and exploding all over the screen! “Blue Velvet” is the way to go for a ‘normie’ introduction to David Lynch.

Michael Hartsell

Sam is little princess the best you got faggot? You've already recommended every single shit movie known to man so just shut the fuck and die, so as not to contaminate the rest of the world. What am I saying? Fat chance of that happening.

john ruddick

Dawn I completely agree with your end comments it's funny in parts but I never really enjoyed it that much. Interesting to watch but that's about it in my opinion. Still I think I enjoyed the reaction video more than the film itself. xxx

Louis Marzullo

Yeah Mike, we can try a truce. Won't be easy. I'm not fond of bullies. And now you've sunk to using slurs that have a history of violence attached to them. Also, ask yourself this: What kind of man (especially an older one) gets off on "busting the balls" of a young woman who is a wife & mother of two kids? Especially while she's recovering from what sounds like a pretty nasty illness. I know Dawn is a "big girl" & doesn't need anyone to protect her but why do you even need to go there? Would you want someone harassing your daughter that way? You can make your suggestions, criticisms, jokes, etc., without being a prize-winning horse's ass. Aren't you right-wingers all supposed to be old-school gentlemen who know how to treat a lady? Anyway, with that said, I swear on the souls of my non-existent grandchildren that I will not be the one to break the peace we've made here today. We're quits 🐴

Captain Caveman

I have wanted you to do this reaction since I first saw her channel. And in fact I joined your patreon just to say that Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin both star in a musical called PAINT YOUR WAGON. They each sing a solo.
