What a great slate of movies! Christmas is looking Marie-er!

Roger Freeman

No worries Dawn. Take care of yourself

Ceryk

Glad you are feeling better

Louis Marzullo

I count potentially 8 uploads in the next 18 or 19 days. Not bad, under the circumstances! Livestream possible? Patron-only 🤓

Bartleby

You are doing the theatrical cut for Apocalypse Now right? Apocalypse Now is definitely my favorite Christmas movie!! 🌴 🌴 🔥 🔥 🎄

Bartleby

Two of those picks won’t require YouTube edits (for the time being at least) as Patreon Exclusives. Still, 8 full reactions and 6 YouTube edits does seem a bit optimistic. Don’t overexert yourself Dawn. Your health is everything!

james flack

Dawn, I see two "Best movies ever" and two "Best, Best movies ever" and one "Best, best, best........These are all your trademark comments, and your fans adore you, even more, because of them❣️-Just sayin'......😎

JL Green

Wow! Trading Places and Dawn Marie is a perfect match!!!!

john ruddick

Your going to love gremlins!

Michael Hartsell

Hey Dawn, I can't see how you could have done much worse than this lineup. You have been on a shitty movie roll lately girl. I guess us that were patiently waiting on Unforgiven just got screwed. Will check back in next month nothing here for me.

Michael Hartsell

Dawn knows she has a good thing going and wants to drag it out as long as possible. She is avoiding the big movies on purpose so she can just drop one in here and there. I know what the deal is.

john ruddick

I have to say , "Trading Places" feels a bit dated these days due to the changing attitudes of the modern world but it is still very funny. "Die hard 2" is 100% a Christmas movie and perfectly fits the season. Obviously "Scrooged" fits perfectly and "Apocalypse Now" is a brilliant retelling of "Heart of Darkness" by Josep loth Conrad and a great movie just watch out for some of the more graphic elements of the final third but it it a masterpiece all the same. But "Gremlins" is a movie I love and no human can resit the cuteness of Gismo. I think the selection is perfect it has a little bit of everything that people should enjoy and all the film's are standout movies in there genres. Good choices! 😋😍🤗

john ruddick

How can you say that? Look deep into Gizmos eyes and they will consume your soul with the 80s nostalgia and cuteness!!!!! 😂😀 Lol

Bartleby

Honestly there should be more sub genres and crossovers of genres with war movies. Why are there no supernatural war movies? You got to figure there’s a lot of ghosts on a battlefield. What about a prequel to Gremlins that actually takes it back to WW2 Lot of potential for some interesting stories that aren’t being told.

Bartleby

Wow Dawn! Your reaction video for The Outlaw Josey Wales did phenomenal and continues to do great numbers! Considering it’s a movie that rarely gets reacted to, it really seemed to capture the algorithm and spread. You could see in the comments how many people were thankful for someone finally coming along and watching this classic. And it really seems a lot of people found you and your channel with that video. They said as much and were impressed with your reacting to Josey Wales. You 100% made the right call by listening to the criticisms of your wiser patrons and taking them seriously by switching out Unforgiven for Josey Wales. You’re doing things right Dawn by exploring all of Clint Eastwood’s other westerns before watching the final western he ever made, “Unforgiven” Those Eastwood westerns for you to see before Unforgiven being “Hang ‘Em High” (1968) “Paint Your Wagon” (1969) “Two Mules for Sister Sara” (1970) “High Plains Drifter” (1973) “Bronco Billy” (1980) “Pale Rider” (1985) And then once you’ve seen all these, you can see, enjoy , and truly savor the last Western Clint Eastwood ever made, “Unforgiven” You could have taken the lazy, easy rout and do like all those other basic, normie, copycat channels that only react to stuff because they see other channels doing it. You could have gone straight to Unforgiven like all those other basic, mediocre channels do and satisfy the fake western geek girls viewers who don’t know any other westerns exists But that’s not you Dawn. You’re not basic like that. You’re not mediocre like that. And the best thing about you making this decision to defy the basic bitches out there in YouTubeLand…. No one that mattered was affected at all negatively. Those of us who aren’t basic bitches are excited for your truly unique Clint Eastwood western journey.

john ruddick

There are a few supernatural war movies but most are B-movies or just not really good ones there is "The Bunker" and "Dead Snow" with some good fun Nazi zombies but it's pretty silly and not much can really be shown on YouTube because of all the gory bits. There is also "Shadow in the Cloud" too.

john ruddick

The most graphic and in my humble opinion most realistic war film is "Come and See" which is has been banned in some countries due to the explicit violence I would not recommend it to the faint of heart as it follows the harrowing story of a young Belarusian boy and his journey of survival through war torn Belarus during the Nazi invasion. It is a true reflection of what war really is.

Eric Janssen

And obligatory reminder that watching Trading Places necessitates watching the 80’s “Coming to America” at some point, because Eddie Murphy, and…other reasons. 😉

Bartleby

Interesting, I’ll look into that movie. Yeah as far as the supernatural war movies, yes there are random b-movies out there. If you’ve ever seen Tim Burton’s “Ed Wood” remember there’s a scene where he’s putting on a play of soldiers in war talking about ghosts and this angel shows up. Great film! Also have you ever seen the animated sci-fi/fantasy/horror film “Heavy Metal” One of the stories in the film is a war horror story.

Louis Marzullo

"The Seventh Seal" is kind of in the ballpark. It's at least in the parking lot! 😁 Worth watching, either way

Bartleby

More a supernatural veteran movie than a supernatural war movie. But of course, a classic that everyone who loves and is exploring cinema should see.

Louis Marzullo

Still pushing for Dawn to do one non-English, sub-titled film per month, starting in 2024! Who's with me?? Hello??... 🦗🦗🦗

Louis Marzullo

There was a brief time in my early teens I thought Ralph Bakshi might be God... or was it Frank Frazetta?

Bartleby

I’m with you Billy the Kid! I mean Louis. One foreign language film a month would be great. Dawn is just realizing she’s scratching the surface of the more strange and bizarre English language films. Let’s throw some classic foreign films into the mix!

Louis Marzullo

This is probably way too late a plea but can whoever has the Patron Pick choose Godfather 2 while part 1 is still fresh in Dawn's mind??

john ruddick

I think a foreign language film would be great but only if she feels up for it some can be a bit tricky but I'd love to see her watch something like "Switchblade Romance" also known as "High Tension" . Or maybe something like "Oldboy" that would be interesting.

john ruddick

Also Dawn I sent you a message about some movies I'm gonna send you if you have them already could you let me know. They are "Casino" , "Inception" , "Blades of Glory", "Gone in 60 Seconds" ( the Nicolas Cage version) and "Stand By Me" . 😇🤗🤸 There will be more to follow....

Bartleby

OldBoy is a MUST. But honestly I’d love to see Dawn go back and watch foreign language classics like Louis suggested “The Seventh Seal”. And I’d personally love to see her explore the films of legendary director Akira Kurosawa. The man who influenced everyone from Sergio Leone, to Coppola, to Lucas, to Spielberg. We know Dawn loves black and white and classic westerns. Would love to see her take on classic samurai films as well. “Rashomon” “Seven Samurai” We know that Dawn loves John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Can’t wait to see what she thinks of Toshiro Mifune And you can take a look at Dawn’s post from about a month ago showing photos of the blu rays and DVDs that she’s been sent so far. You can verify there if someone has sent her a particular movie already.

Björn Karlsson

I'm on 🤩 I know about 30-40ish movies from "Northen Europe" that is great 🥰🥰 Like Flickering lights from Denmark, Trollhunter from Norway, Sisu from Finland and (of course) Show me love from Sweden etc 😍😍😍

Louis Marzullo

Maybe alternate between a classic B&W foreign film (Breathless, 7 Samurai, 400 Blows, 7th Seal, La Dolce Vita, Bicycle Thief, La Strada) & a newer one. Not that she's squeamish about violence, of course, but I do think Dawn would be owed a caveat about the more extreme films like High Tension, Old Boy, Irreversible, Martyrs, etc., without major spoilers. I remember someone suggesting Texas Chainsaw Massacre once & Dawn responding that she "doesn't do chainsaws", so she does have her limits

john ruddick

I think I might have a copies of "Fitzcarraldo", "Russian Ark", "Ran" (Akira Kurosawa.) And the studio Gibli "Nausica Valley of The Wind" as well as many others somewhere but I'd have to dig them out.

Louis Marzullo

If I could turn the clock back 40 years, I'd start a garage band named "Basic Bitches" 🤣

Chicago Artist Jon

“I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like… Christmas.” I remember asking my dad if we were winning the war because their casualties were so much higher and he just said No. I was confused by that at the time. The came this movie.

Bartleby

I’m feening for the smell of napalm in the morning Dawn!! 🌴 🌴 🌴 💥🔥 🔥 🔥

Louis Marzullo

Dawn don't surf or rush... Unless maybe there's an even YOUNGER Harrison Ford in A.N. than in Blade Runner? 😏

Bill W

Will you do a Live! in December?

Bill W

We still have Bob Falfa, but that's more of a Summer movie.

Bill W

Yes'r. He crashed that '55 Chevy with the smallblock, so he upgraded to the flying car.

Bartleby

Well if you’re going to talk about Harrison Ford drag racing in American Graffiti, you got to talk about Sylvester Stallone homicidal racing in Death Race 2000!!!

Bartleby

Dawn!!! We want the Apocalypse! Now!!! At least give us the full length while the YT edit get tweaked.

john ruddick

Blade runner just hit 2400 views in 2 hours!!! 🎆 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊How does it feel to be such a great success dawn?!! xxx

Jacobus Dixon

Looking forward to the reactions. Die Hard is particularly good. I’m not sure if this is the right place for recommendations, so my apologies if I’m wrong, but I’d like to recommend “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” (1992), “Double Indemnity” (1944), “Little Big Man” (1970), and “The Last Emperor” (1987)

james flack

I temporarily changed my thumbnail photo, just for you, Dawn, Happy Holidays to you and yours. 💙

John Liebling

It would be a lot of fun watching Dawn react to Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin try and sing in the movie Paint Your Wagon.

John Liebling

Classic Jimmy Stewart movies you'd like in 2024 would be Mr. Smith Goes To Washington "You Can't Take It With You" "Harvey" and "Anatomy of A Murder"

John Liebling

Classic Cary Grant movies: "Monkey Business" "His Girl Friday" "People Will Talk" and "Bringing Up Baby"

John Liebling

Classic Gregory Peck movies: The two which deal with prejudice are "Gentleman's Agreement" and "To Kill A Mocking Bird" And great acting from Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck in the Alfred Hitchcock "Spellbound" The western "The Big Country" is also very good. And "The Guns of Navarone" 1961 and "Cape Fear" 1962 are also excellent movies.

John Liebling

Dawn, you have a great sense of humor, and you really get a kick out of comedies. And you seem to also have an appreciation for black and white films. A black and white film from 1950 called, "Born Yesterday" staring the comedic genius, Judy Holiday. Going into this film, there's no way you're going to predict what's going to happen. It's another very good film.

Louis Marzullo

Just noticed the bagpipes! Thought it was his sack filled with toys & that he had a candy cane in his mouth! 🤣 Then I enlarged pic. Good stuff, James! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!

james flack

"Field car? What's a field car? 🤔😉

John Liebling

Louis did you ever watch Steve Martin's and Martin Short's an evening you will forget for the rest of your life, on Netflix? One bit is Martin Short held by a large dude and Martin becomes a human bag pipe.

Louis Marzullo

No but thank you for the recommendation, John. Sounds hilarious! I don't have Netflix but I will check YouTube for that particular sketch. Anything with Martin & Martin is worth seeing!

Bartleby

I thought all those movies listed for the month seemed optimistic. I hope Dawn doesn’t overdo it trying to cram a bunch of Christmas movies in last minute. I hope she’s in good health.

Louis Marzullo

Yeah, that's what I meant. Hope she didn't get sick again after last post. Been a week without a word. Even Sollozzo's people don't know anything...

james flack

Dawn, the movie "Scrooged" will introduce you my very first movie heartthrob..........Carol Kane. 💓 😎 (She's the one with the toaster)

Louis Marzullo

Just that movie looks like a particularly malodorous hunk of 80's cheese. Loved her in The Color Purple. She was good in Ghost, too. Couldn't get past her defense of Michael Vick, though. Not a fan since then

james flack

I respect your wishes, Louis, it's just a bit disheartening that you will never get to hear that iconic phrase, "Speak English, Mick". 😎
