Mastodon v1.4.3 (Patreon)

Hey folks! Another release. Bringing you highly requested features like:

- Customizing the columns in the web UI
- Ability to delete your own account

In other news!

I have skyped in to two Japanese conferences, Interop Tokyo and Mastodon Kaigi 3 to answer questions about Mastodon. There's also been a new wave of new users in the network following another unpopular decision by Twitter (but by now I am almost not surprised!)

I am looking into investing into a professional redesign of the Mastodon logo, I have worked with the designer on past projects and their work has always been outstanding so I am confident it wouldn't be a disaster like Patreon's new logo (apparently it's a ping pong company now). Logo changes are not to be taken lightly, but I have never felt like the current Mastodon logo captures the spirit of the project well, it is only barely recognizable as an M shape and it doesn't look good in small sizes. I will post more if something materializes out of this endeavour.

Overall I am happy with how the v1.4.3 release turned out, I think the software is in a good place right now, many major bugs have been fixed and many popular feature requests have been addressed. So I am taking a few days off. The next release will focus more on things end-users don't get to see, but which will make admins happier and improve technical aspects of the software.
