Chapter 17

Jason was excited about his big news. He could barely hold it until he met Nataly.

When he got home, he had an excited amazon waiting for him. A bit concerned, but nonetheless, eager to know what his news were.

“So… are you ready?” Jason asked as he looked up at Nataly.

“Ready? Jason, I´ve been DESPERATE to know! Ever since you told me earlier.” She was still concerned, but the smile on his face proves this isn´t something bad. Right?

She´s just worried he got himself into something he thinks is good, but that in reality, isn´t very much.

“I got… promoted!” He tried to make a dramatical pause, but it was a short one, he wasn´t too good at it, plus, he couldn´t wait to tell her!

A huge smile filled his face as he told her the news. Soon, Nataly´s eyebrows rose. Had she heard that right?

“Promoted? You got… promoted?!” So quick, wow. However, a small drop of doubt fell over her head. Was it an actual promotion? Or, was someone playing a game on him? “Who… how… what´s this promotion about, Jason?” She didn´t want to sound to obvious about her reluctancy.

She must be supportive. Excited for him! Happy, celebrate this with him. However, she still fears this might be some sort of bad joke from someone. A prank on his poor boyfriend. He´s so kind, and so naïve, he would easily fall for it.

“Wow, hehe, so many questions.” He smiled, it was nice to know she was eager to know more about it. “Well, allow me to explain. First of all, let me tell you what this is all about. I will no longer be the copy-boy. Oh no, those days are gone. In fact, they will completely remove that… department. Now, I´ll be a personal assistant!” that doesn´t sound as good.

Before, he was in a room, alone. With no lady to boss him around. Part of Nataly was happy for that. No big woman will treat him bad, however, now he´ll be an assistant? A personal assistant? This only allows a woman to, literally, boss him around.

Nataly hates herself for overthinking so much. Instead of being happy for him, she´s worried this is something bad.

“Wow, a personal assistant?” She asked, “And who… who´ll be your new boss?”

“Good question! Remember that big executive lady from the other day? The one that… saved me from those sups. She´ll be my new boss. Ain´t that funny?” So, he´s basically the assistant of the biggest woman around.

Nataly remembers that woman, according to him, she was kind. But, is she? Or was it all a façade to make him lower his guard, and now that he´s, practically, at her mercy, there´s nothing he can do. Quite clever, she must admit it.

“Oh, that´s… great! She was nice, right? The nice lady from the other day?” Why is Nataly so worried? He´ll be fine. But she can´t help it, he´s just… much shorter than her. Even she feels small from time to time.

“Very nice. She´s kind of… sweet, if I´m being honest.” She was, his new boss, Mrs. Braxton was sweet. The sweetest, in fact.

“I see. So… when are you starting, next week? Maybe next month?” They gave him time to think, right?

“Oh, tomorrow. I´m starting tomorrow, actually. I already accepted. Starting tomorrow, I´ll be the personal assistant of a very important woman. Isn´t that a big shot? It´s an amazing opportunity!” Jason was happy, but Nataly felt worried.

She was smiling, she seemed happy for him. But beneath that smile, she was hiding her concern. The real world´s full of gigantic women. And now, he´s basically going to be with a giantess during his entire shift.

Why does she suddenly care so much? It´s been like this since forever. But, is it that, she´s a little… overprotective?
