Chapter 2
Robert didn´t have to wait too long for a reply from the real estate lady. In fact, he woke up to some good news.
“Good news! You can move in!” Read the message Marcy send him.
He smiled, even if he couldn´t keep his eyes fully open, since he just woke up; he could keep a smile on his face.
Was this real? Did he really just receive a message from the actual real estate lady?
Even if this seemed fake, what are the chances? Who´d try to scam him with something so similar to reality? It was no coincidence; they were actual news. He even checked, just to confirm the number was the same as the one on the card she gave him.
There´s just something that makes this unbelievable. Was this even business? Or, why would someone want to get rid of that house? At that price, that´s what it seems. That they are throwing the house away, but why? It´s not even a deal for the person who´s selling it.
Unless they are selling a house that doesn´t belong to them. Robert was happy, but he was still reluctant on this.
At this price, this could be either a scam or someone making terrible business, but for their own.
He was even waiting for the message of: ”First, we need you to make a small deposit…” and he never gets to know anything about anyone any more.
Which could also explain why the real estate lady was so big. Marcy was an amazon! She might know nothing about real estate and just be there in case he wants to try anything. In case she needs to put his lights down for a while…
Which could also be a possibility. If they meet so that he can give her the “keys”, when she´s actually going to rob him, well… that wouldn´t be nice. But it still was a possibility.
He was so skeptical, paranoid about this. But when he got to the place, he was greeted by Marcy. Who had a special surprise.
“Congrats!” she said as she opened a bottle of champagne.
This was overwhelming. Marcy´s size and also Robert´s new place. His NEW PLACE! This was official!
He was given all of the paper work, he signed everything and paid for it. The amount of money he paid did not fit, at all, with what he was buying. This felt like a bad deal, but to him, this was a great deal!
“Ok, it´s official, congratulations on your new house!” Marcy cheered as he signed the last paper. It was official, unbelievable but, Robert´s got himself a nice, new house.
“When do you think you can move in?” Marcy asked.
He kept his mind busy by repeating the words: “Don´t stare at her body.”, she was just so hot. And too big not to be acknowledged.
“Sorry?” he asked.
Apparently, the sooner he moved, the better. Why? No particular reason. Marcy said this was a “just out of curiosity” question. But there was much more behind it. This might not seem as a great deal for the person selling the place, but you can trust it is.
It´s not money what they are looking for…
“I think… by next week? I only need to pack my stuff, you know…” he replied.
“Wonderful! And trust me, this neighborhood will welcome you with their arms wide open.” That truer than he knows…
A few days later, with his new keys in hand, Robert took one last look at his former apartment.
Everything was packed and it had already been sent to his new house. He smiled, new house? He didn´t expect to say those words before he turned thirty. A new, big house, that he owned! It was his, HIS!
He had no idea what to expect about this new place. The place was nice, certainly nice. But there´s much more than just that. For instance, what about the neighbors? He spent so much time wondering if this was real that he never stopped to think about where he was moving in.
And we´re not talking about the area, we´re not talking about the land where the house is. Nor the location. We´re talking about the people who live there. There´s another three houses in that neighborhood, who lives on those?
Robert´s moving into a new neighborhood, but he forgot to ask himself a very important question, who will his new neighbors be?
As he made his way to his new place, as he looked out the cab´s window, he just fantasized about the new people he was yet to meet.
At his apartment, well his “old” place, he didn´t actually spoke with his neighbors too much. There were about ten apartments per floor. Five on each side of the stairs. If your perspective is from the end of the stairs, then he lives on the right. He really has no idea who lives on the left side.
Some of the people have moved out, and one or two apartments were uninhabited. However, the people who lives on the right side, his side, he knows who they are. Well, at least he´s seen them.
There´s a guy who lives next to his old place, with a very distinctive mustache, who hates his job and seems kind of cranky all the time. His name´s Todd, but that´s all he knows about the guy.
In front of his apartment lived a couple, both of middle age. Nice people, but he rarely met them.
Next to the couple, there was a guy, but he rarely stepped out of his apartment. Robert figured he worked from home or something like that.
And at the end of the hall, an elder lady. Probably on her late sixties, or her early seventies. She was a sweet lady, and he´s helped her carry her groceries a couple of times.
Now, he´s looking forward to a new place. New neighbors. And his question is, who will they be? Will they be kind? Friendly? Or will they be of the people he rarely sees?
If they are of the last kind, then things will be just as they used to be back at his old place. And it does sound silly to call it “old place”, given the fact that he just left the place today. But the past keeps getting behind, further and further after each passing day.
Back to the question, who will he meet?
Maybe the place was full of couples? He´d be the only single guy in the neighborhood. It would be kind of awkward, if he´s real to himself. Being the only single one.
Or, maybe, everyone else will be single like him. Who knows, there could even be a cute lady for him. A cute, sexy neighbor. He´s always been looking forward to living next to a cute lady he could date. Wouldn´t that be sweet? And convenient, he´d only have to walk next door, or cross the street, to meet her. And they could spend lots of time together!
Although, even if she´s single, supposing she exists, what about the age? What if she´s older? What if she´s just like his elderly neighbor? Single, but old enough to be called granny. It led to a different theory.
What if everyone in the neighborhood are elder people? It could explain why there seemed to be so little activity around the place. Probably they were inside, reading, sleeping, who knows. He doesn´t.
There´s also the possibility that this place is full of people who work all the time. Not workaholics, just people who spend most of their time working. Busy people who only sleep at their places and spend the rest of their time out, doing business.
And, last but not least, there was also the possibility that he was the only one living there. But that wouldn´t be accurate. Why would his place be the only one listed if they were all for sale?
All and all, he has no idea what to expect, so he´ll expect the unexpectable. Or, just not expect anything at all. The last one will be easier.
If there´s other people living there, he´ll meet them whenever he has to meet them.
Robert inserted the key on the knob, turned it and then, he was in. Back into this new place, but now, he was alone.
Marcy, sexy Marcy as he calls her, was not there to greet him. Instead, there were a couple of boxes, filled with his things.
Clothes, a few kitchen appliances, random stuff, things he had forgotten he had. Things he has no idea why he bought. A couple of books, pillows, sheets, bathroom stuff…
He throwed his backpack over the couch, carrying his last belongings, and took a sit. He looked around, breathed in the aroma of his new place, and smiled.
Something good has happened. He has acquired a new place. No rent, no mortgage, this was his, fully paid! The only thing he had to worry about were the bills. Gas, electricity, water. They were kind enough to leave a cable service, with satellite, and wi-fi, the thing is, when does he have to pay for that?
Besides, are they actually going to let him keep all this stuff? The house was fully packed! A bed, a couch, a sofa, the kitchen had a microwave, a stove, fridge. There were plenty other things, like the TV, which Marcy said was part of the deal, to make it sweeter, but this was already sweet enough!
It seems that all the house needs was… him. Someone who lived in it. And, of course, food, but he´ll worry about that later.
He can´t deny he was a little excited about this new place. He even took a full look again. But this time, alone. He walked into his room, his new room. He walked into the kitchen, everything was so clean, tidy. A laundry room, garage, even an attic! He checked out both bathrooms, the one at his bedroom and the other one for guests. And, at last, he checked out the backyard.
The garden was nice, there were plants. It was funny, why would there be plants on the backyard? Who´s been taking care of them? There were flowers, bushes on the edges, and even a big tree in the middle. Such a nice place.
Why would someone leave this behind? Why would someone trade this for so little money?
“Maybe they are rich…” he thought, but that was not the answer…
Robert was just lying in bed. He felt odd, this wasn´t the bed he was used to; he wasn´t at the room he was used to; he was looking at a ceiling, but it wasn´t the ceiling of the apartment he was used to.
He looked around at all of the new things, and he wondered, why not doing something new? Why should he be the same guy he used to be? It´s not like he´s going to pretend to be someone he´s not, or pretend he´s got things he doesn´t. He won´t pretend, he´s just going to change a little.
He´s been shy, maybe due to his height, maybe not. Standing as a 5´3” guy was not a problem, but he´s just not the guy ladies immediately look for. He didn´t go out to parties a lot, or the club, his social life was… well, it existed, let´s just leave it like that.
Now, things are different. He´s not feeling extremely successful, or allowing this change to make such a mark on his life. He knows he´s the same guy as he was last month, the only difference is that he owns a house, a fairly nice one. The price he paid for it, it was so cheap that he feels more like this isa gift other than something he saved a lot to get.
But his plan´s not bad. Everything he´s going to do is to walk out and meet his new neighbors. He no longer lives on an apartment where people come and go; and that there´s no actual need to meet everyone since they will all leave eventually. No, he lives at a house, next to other houses.
Which sounds sort of the definition of neighborhood, but that´s not the main point. He´ll live there for a while, not a few months, probably a couple of years. Therefore, he´ll see all the other people who live there quite a lot.
It´ll be better if he gave the first step and greeted them.
“Should I, like… knock on their doors? Or, maybe it´ll be a better idea to walk out and see who I can meet.” Maybe someone will pop up at this time of the day. Arrive from work, on their way to the store, perhaps, taking care of their front garden?
He felt slightly odd, maybe knocking on their doors to introduce himself wasn´t as clever. Perhaps, even a nuisance. Or maybe not. Who knows. People have their own private lives, maybe they won´t like it if you just knock for no reason.
And for some, introducing yourself might not be a good enough reason.
Besides, if any of his neighbors was interested on meeting him, they would´ve come. Knock at his door, greet him, things like that. Even, and he´s not asking for it, someone could come to his door with a casserole, he´s just saying…
Robert wasn´t sure, however, now that he started thinking on food…
grooowwwl… That was his stomach.
Maybe it was time for dinner. The question is, what will he eat?
He just moved in, he went straight to the fridge, but it´s logical that there won´t be any food there. Made, pre-maid, or raw. Nothing.
“There´s… not even milk on my fridge.” Well, what was he waiting for? He moved in today and didn´t even bother on going to the store. Of course there´s nothing there.
“Hmm… should I go to the grocery store, or… order something?” he doesn´t own a car, he´d have to get a ride over there, and then, get one for the way back. And then, after he gets home, he´d have to cook what he bought.
It would make sense if he went to the store and bought everything he needs for the week. Not just for one meal. That way it´ll be worth it. But, he´s not that proactive when it comes to food.
Therefore, he´ll order take-out. Just as if he used an app to ask for a ride, with delivery, someone´s coming his way anyways, it´ll be better if they come with food. It´s more convenient.
With this new plan in mind, he wonders: “Pizza? Chinese food? Thai?” What does he want for today´s dinner?
Maybe there´s a chance he doesn´t have to worry about it.
As he went back upstairs to get his phone, someone else was making her way out of her place.
The door of the house across the street opened. In her hands, a casserole, exactly what he thought. Convenient? Common? A nice gesture, for sure.
This lady made her way out, wearing some stylish sandals. She went out, wearing a nice dress, yellow and full of flowers. Not too long, not too short. Knee height, you could see her plump calves as she made her way across the street.
The gentle breeze, making the flounce of the dress dance. Making her long, blonde hairs fly a little in the air.
He wondered why no one has come to greet him, well, now there´s someone on their way to meet him. Someone who´ll be at his door at any second…
ding dong
Robert had just reached his phone, literally just touched it, when he heard the bell. He turned, he´s not used to the sound, not yet.
“Oh, is someone at my door?” Time to check.
As he made his way downstairs, he smiled. Someone was coming! It would be nice to meet someone from the neighborhood, nice to be welcomed by someone. Meet someone new.
“Coming!” he said, rushing his last few steps towards the door.
He stopped right in front of the door, and a small question came to him, does he look good? How silly he felt by doubting about his attire. But no one came to judge how he dresses, they came to greet him.
“Hi!” He said, with a smile as he opened the door. He didn´t have any thoughts on who this could be.
A man? A woman? Young? Old? One person? Two people? That´s a random question. However, he wasn´t prepared to see who was at his door.
“Hello, sweetheart. I assume you´re the new neighbor.” This was a woman. And her voice was kind, a gentle tone, sweet and a little deep. But that´s not what he noticed, his mind´s focused on her size.
His heart skipped a beat as he turned his head up, and up, and up to meet hers. Wasn´t he standing half a step above her? She was huge!
Her eyes were blue; her hairs were golden, long and straight. However, the only thing he noticed was that she towered above him! The real estate lady was tall, but this woman was taller!
“My name´s Deborah, nice to meet you.” She said, putting her hand in the middle for a handshake.
“H-hi! I… I´m Robert. Nice to meet you, Deborah.” She was huge!
When she took his hand in hers, as they shook them, he could feel a whole world in size between them. Saying she´s a foot taller than him won´t be accurate.
“May I call you Robbie, hmm?” she immediately asked.
“I… I guess…” he was overwhelmed by her size. But she wasn´t just tall.
Deborah was a thick lady. Her dress had short sleeves, and he could see the thickness of her arms. Soft-looking, yet, he could tell they were thicker than his. And much longer.
But that was not just it. The dress hugged her figure quite nicely. Showing off her thick curves. Some wide, sexy hips, and he could only wonder if her butt was just as big, just as thick. Her chest also seemed big, heavy.
She seemed older than him, her face was pretty, but he could tell she was a bit older.
“I brought a casserole,” she added. “I wanted to welcome you to our neighborhood.”
“Oh, that´s… so kind. Thanks.” He replied.
“You´re welcome, honey. Do you mind if I step inside? I´d like to put it on your kitchen. It´s still a bit hot, I don´t want you to get burned.” She said.
“S-sure. Uhm, be my guest.” He said.
“Thank you.” Deborah walked in.
She was an amazon! As she walked in, he noticed she had no heels on. She was a statuesque woman! Is this amazon his neighbor?
The real question is, what´s in store for him?
