Hey all! Here's episode 47 of the ContinueCast.

This week, we start with some general banter, then get into a discussion about Early Access games on the PC!

Thank you again to all of you, our Patreons, for making the podcast possible.

The early access games I've purchased have all been like survival crafting games. I think part of it goes back to my first experiences with Minecraft. The thing I liked about it was learning the game and learning new mechanics and my experience of the game changing along the way. When a new patch came out, it was like getting a taste of that early experience over again. I feel like updates to survival crafting type games tend to be more substantial, adding new functionality, not just balancing tweaks. Because of that, I think, is why I like early access for those types of games. On the flip side, I love RPGs and have no interest in early access RPGs. Divinity: Original Sin 2 has an early access, and I'm really excited for the game, but feel that playing it in early access would ruin the experience for me, rather than enhance it like it does for survival crafting.

Real reason Paul won't share his screen while editing is just all the open porn tabs.

Very good points! My brother played Minecraft when it first began and he definitely opened my eyes to the novelty of discovering a game's secrets while it is being actively developed. There was a lot of wonder and, dare I say, old school game play in those early days of Minecraft. I definitely wanted to play Divinity 2 ASAP, but I'm waiting on that one too. - Paul

I'm just disappointed you're not sharing with the class, Paul. DON'T BOGART THAT PORN!

Hoping from that title that we get a bit of "poopcast"

Ghosts can't grow. Ghosts can't go through doors

It was really interesting hearing your editing processes. I can say I DEFINITELY do it like Josh does when I edit video. I go hard immediately and get it mostly done in one pass, and then go back and tweak things.

Sam Foley

"cheese holes ass shit" Was that a reference to the swimming pool full of helium filled swiss cheese because "we're gonna run out of helium". That, is some nick murphy ass shit.

Maybe we can have a little discussion about more of our production process. What kinda things would you find interesting?

Allen Jenkins

Huh, that's a good question! I'd love to hear about how you guys progressed in terms of gear. Lighting is one thing in particular I think a lot of us have trouble with early on, and it'd be cool to hear about what kind of things you guys used early on and how that evolved. It'd also be cool to hear about location scouting and day to day stuff involved in doing a web series, and maybe how that affected the writing process, if at all.
