All those stories about drive-by water gun shootings reminded me of when I was 15 walking home from school, and a car full of guys drove up and completely soaked my backpack and all my books. I was pretty pissed. I was drinking a slurpee, and when they circled around the block again I threw my slurpee through their window and it went off like a bomb inside their car. The driver started screaming and trying to run me down with his car; I ran onto the closest lawn and he went tearing across the lawn and wiped out someone's hedge and bushes. People romanticize those pre-cellphone days and the era of being able to do whatever the hell you want without so-called helicopter parents, but I honestly don't miss it. I do wonder what sorts of shit my kids are going to get into though as they get older
