Hey all! We're getting the band back together this weekend to record Part 2 of the ContinueCast for FF7 Remake.

Got questions? Want to provide some insights into that bonkers ending? Just want to help us invent some more fake sponsorships? Leave your comments here and we'll read stuff out on the show!

The game is deffinatly doing things differently than the original but those demontora are totally trying to stop the changes like some sort of meta police and Aerith totally knows! Will her ending be different this time? I think it could be, even if very slightly.

I'm gonna need some clarification on that ending. I loved the big, crazy, over the top boss run at the end. Ive made it about halfway through hardmode, and feel pretty motivated to complete the game. I think they should have a different character die instead of Aerith, but I don't think I could emotionally handle Tifas death. 😅 Zack should be a playable character.... and I hope the next game has Vincent.... whenever it comes out.

I thought the game was great. I haven’t played the original, but I know the story stuff everyone knows about Aerith, Cait Sith, etc. I loved all the little personal touches that made you actually care about all of the characters, not just Cloud. Sneaking through Jessie’s fathers room and the staircase scene made me feel closer to the cast, especially the scenes following the dance sequence. Going on knowing only bits and pieces really made it fun picking up on references that I didn’t fully understand until now. It was also nice knowing that they added new content, so everyone has some fresh experiences. With all of that said, do you guys think the future parts will stick as closely to the original game, or is that even possible with some characters surviving longer than they did in the original? Love what you guys do, your humor and wit have brought me hours of much needed fun in this dark timeline.

How have you guys been adjusting to actually hearing the voices for the characters? I know this was touched on a bit on the first podcast but it's taken me a while to accept the voices as opposed to how your brain fills them in from the original. I think the cast did a great job, but after spending over two decades "hearing" them my way, it took me a while into the game to not think about it whenever people talk. Does any of that make sense, who knows

What were each of y'alls favorite fights? I think the cinematic re-telling of the old boss battles was a highlight of all the things this game did right. For me, it's the Airbuster- I love how you hear slow redux's of the battle theme that keep getting more and more intense beforehand and finally it just goes off the rails into complete orchestral metal by then. I had so much adrenaline, my inner kid self was about to find the biggest stick in the backyard and go fight a fuckin car. I was also super pleased with the music- I was nervous prior, but they definitely killed it. My biggest qualm is the Whispers of Fate and Jenova stuff feeling way too formulaic of Kingdom Hearts. Hopefully they can figure out something original to do with that. Overall, I really enjoyed it though. Ok, back to music makin- peace!

I'm kinda confused by some of the hate FF7R received. I get that some people are miffed that they took a small part of the game and stretched it out but personally, them taking one of my favorite games and putting more life and personality into it...I couldn't ask for more. The twist that Paul thinks he heard, I practically applauded at the ending as it was so far from what I was expecting and its great that the developers knew that they needed to mix up a 20+ year old game. The only negative I had, and that comes from playing the original is that when you know what is coming around the corner, and in the original is 15-20 minutes away from happening, is then stretched out to 3-4 hours, it kinda kills the pacing so I would be interested to know how someone felt that had never played the original. I'd also like to hear Paul's opinion on this (its impossible to say what bit I'm talking about without spoiling it) Overall, FF7 is one of my favorite games and FF7R is a new one of my favorites and they live together in perfect harmony. Two games made in very different times that can coexist and stand on their own.
