One of the most stupid things in EarthBound: if you have a condiment in your inventory it is automatically applied to WHATEVER HEALING ITEM YOU USE!!! ...This game is stupid. You guys rock.

Dude, I'm so proud of Paul in this episode! He figured out the delisauce was being used automatically and so transferred foods to other people so it wouldn't be used. He used all his healing items in order to save PP for fighting the boss instead of wasting it on healing when food could serve that purpose. He used the Hungry HP Sucker and transferred the broken items to N3RDZ. He figured out exactly why the Slime Generator didn't work, because Freeze already solidified the boss first. He figured out that he should grind in dungeons after beating the boss because the enemies run from you and leave themselves totally exposed, plus you can heal as many times as you want for free at the sanctuary...this man is GETTING it! Hell yeah. Paul be big brainin'.

It's not stupid, it just forces you to actually think about what you're using and when. Forcing the player to use his head and strategize item usage isn't stupid.
