"I'm reading this because I don't want to experience it, I want to just know all the things ahead of time, so just tell me all the things." Guys, know that I love you, but that one sentence from Nick sums up everything that's wrong with this playthrough and everything that was wrong with the FFVII playthrough. We WANT to watch you experience the game. That's the whole purpose of watching you play it. If you remove the game experience from the equation, then it's just a podcast and the game becomes worthless, at which point you should just make ContinueCast and drop the game altogether. If you're going to play a game, let the game lead the experience. That's why Continue? works so well and is so fun to watch; the game leads the experience and you guys are along for the ride. If you just want to talk and you don't give a shit about the game, that's fine, but then just do a podcast and drop the pretense of a game experience, because all you're doing by playing games this way is disrespecting the game by refusing to allow it to charm or surprise you, which sours the viewing experience for people who love the game you're playing and want to see you fall in love with it the way they did. You can't fall in love with something by ruining all the surprise of it, reading a tutorial the whole time, and making it into a totally robotic procedure with no organic element of play. Imagine trying to date someone who can read your mind and knows everything you're going to say before you say it, constantly cutting you off as you try to speak by saying it for you before you even say it. That would fucking suck, there'd be no opportunity for surprise or charm or romance. That's what's happening here. I keep pointing this out and harping on the matter because I know you can do better and I want to see you do better. If I didn't care so much about your content, I'd just stop watching and move on. I don't do that because I like you and I want to watch your content improve. So I hope these comments aren't being met with anger and resentment and instead are hitting the mark they're meant to hit by getting you to rethink the way you do these long series so they can be more enjoyable and get more views.
