People saying they are getting annoyed with Nao not doing anything, I'm about 100% certain that's because Aina does 1 page a week and it just feels like it's taking forever. Which, you know, sucks. Edit, because of my feelings right now: I genuinely believe that Arashi brought it herself, because Nao seemed visibly uninterested with that idea. And I'm going to say, I hate the fact that this slow burn has lasted 8 YEARS!!!! It makes me wish she started releasing updates at least twice a week(because she needs rest), but she probably has a lot on her plate.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmk. I'm doing great. Perfectly normal. Not at all frustrated over the constant misunderstandings. Nope. No-siree. It's not like Souta slipped off with someone he told Nao he'd like to kiss. Or like Arashi has the guitar keychain. Or like THEY LOOK LIKE THEY'RE ON THE WAY TO THE FERRIS WHEEL. For one, I refuse to believe that Arashi didn't buy that keychain for herself. I can't picture Nao buying it for her. For two, ARASHI YOU ARE NOT HELPING ISTG. I understand that she's a girl with a crush but I get so frustrated. The comment about them getting lost on purpose bothers me. This is partially because it gives Nao even more doubt about the nature of Souta and Inoue's relationship. But even more, I hate the culture of "men and women can't be friends". Arashi has no idea about Souta and Inoue's actual relationship. Obviously, a big part of recent chapters have revolved around romance between opposite sexes and that's just how it is. BUT I HATE IT. I'm someone that doesn't do romance and I hate when anyone implies that I'm interested in someone. The stereotypes we have regarding relationships are just so FRUSTRATING. Aside from that rant, I am very curious about what will happen going forward (as always). Will they go looking for Souta and Inoue? Will Nao even want to, if he thinks they snuck away on purpose? Will Arashi actually get to confess ever? Will SOUTA? Will Souta tell Inoue about his feelings for Nao and will they bond over it? If the group goes looking for them, who will find them? Will Keisuke and Nao maybe have a chance to talk? Could this become a shovel-talk equivalent (with Keisuke trying to avoid outing Souta)? I'd love to see those two interact more, along with Keisuke and Inoue. WHO WILL PAIR UP FOR THE FERRIS WHEEL????!!!! UGH. Thank you Aina. I love this story so much (if that wasn't already obvious).

Ah. Ahhhhhhh. Welp. I felt the pain Souta had when he saw the keychain. But I’m hoping that Nao didn’t actually buy it for her and she did for herself. And I don’t blame him for walking off again. At this point Arashi’s existence is the bane of his. On a different note, I’m liking the potential bond Souta and Inoue are forming (especially considering their dynamic early in the story). It’d be interesting to see how they talk about being hurt by Arashi’s advances on Nao lol. But I’m really hoping Souta confines in Inoue about his crush because one) She knows how it feels and two) She cares about Souta so I don’t see her taking it the wrong way (hopefully) (I trust Inoue). also what were Takeo and Keisuke on about lmao it sounded interesting. Okay so there are somethings to talk about. First off, I love the use of the lollipop to symbolize what love is like in the story right now. For Inoue and Souta, love is so sour that it is distasteful. Whereas, Hasegawa likes the lollipop since he isn’t feeling love right now but likes the idea of it. Secondly, I’m so glad that Souta and Inoue are taking a break. They definitely need it and I hope they have fun and confide in each other. Hopefully, Souta tells Inoue about how he feels about Nao and Inoue starts to look out for Souta onward after. As I see it, the only person that see Souta for who he truly is, is Keisuke. Keisuke knows everything about Souta but that isn’t becoming enough anymore in the story. Souta needs more emotional support and knowing how Inoue and Souta are friends and truly do have fun spending time together, I hope that Souta will come out to Inoue as well. Finally, we all know that Arashi bought that keychain herself. But the fact that Nao asked to leave with Souta and instead left with Inoue is… I hope that this makes Nao so upset to the point that they talk. Perhaps the half confession all along wasn’t to Nao… but perhaps Souta’s half confession could be to Inoue telling her that he likes Nao.

I said it on discord and I'm gonna say it here. Inoue confessed to Nao. Even if he believed Souta when he said he wanted to kiss Inoue, Nao knows that Inoue likes him not Souta. He just doesn't know Souta also knows that. So he's probably more concerned with Souta already being hurt and now facing rejection than he is jealous. At least that wasn't really the face of jealousy. Not like the way he looked at Ryu.

Also, even if Inoue doesn't yet know about Souta's feelings, she knows how close he and Nao are. She mentioned it herself. She, more than anyone, has probably noted the amount of distance between Naota as a direct result of Arashi. It won't take much for her to put it together. But even if she never does, she sees their friendship suffering.

I do wonder if Souta will tell inoue the truth. Like if he just breaks down in front of her about the truth, and how there is nothing he can do about it. Because, from Souta’s eyes, he can’t even confess. Inoue could confess (although admittedly she did it at the wrong time and for the wrong reason) because she was a girl. Souta, on the other hand, feels locked into the position of “wing man” /“best friend” (hence the scene where Souta stands there with noa and arashi in wedding clothes) He doesn’t even see a possibility where he does confess because, as souta has implied, “I’m a boy.” However, if Souta tells this to inoue, I have a feeling that she will tell him otherwise. I have a feeling that inoue has observed just how close Naota is. I have a feeling that she will tell Souta he may be surprised by Nao’s reaction. Okay I have no doubt Arashi bought the keychain herself, but I can’t blame Souta for reaching the conclusion he does. His face when he notices tho 🥺💔 (side note, but his friendship with Inoue is precious 💕) Also I think some of you may be too harsh on Noa. Like while Souta is pretty obvious (particularly more so to us readers) so far Nao has been shown to be completely oblivious to people crushing on him (say all the girls that come up to him, girl in middle school, Inoue, and now Arashi) like my guy seems to literally have no clue. And these girls were not even trying to hide their feelings, let alone Souta, whom might be even less so on his radar because of heteronormativity, and cause he lied to Noa telling him he likes Inoue. Plus if he thinks Inoue likes him, he probably feels worried for Souta on top of the confusing mess of other feelings he has… I do believe Noa has realized his feelings for Souta since the stars chapter mayhaps 🙏 (but he definitely unknowingly liked him from way before 👀) and I do think he, same as Souta, had an inkling his feelings might be returned (I mean there is no straight explanation for the “do you wanna try it” scene or the ALMOST KISS!!! are you kidding me 😩) I just think right now it’s overwhelming with all these contradicting info, and Nao’s just sad and confused on why, yet again, a wedge is being driven between them 😕 and he’s trying his best to understand what is causing that/ what’s the matter with Souta And if I’m understanding right it really hasn’t been that long since Soutas been acting off (like when was their arcade hangout? 2 days ago) that’s the first indication Nao got of Souta acting off I think. So, you know, I don’t think his passiveness is as bad as some are describing, just give him a bit more time (plz don’t prove me wrong on this Noa, or I might just pass away from stress 😀🙇‍♀️)

Thinking about this more and this is like Shakespearean level of miscommunication here. On top of an unreliable narrator. 😭 We have Nao who is upset about Souta pulling away, who knows something’s wrong but Souta won’t talk to him. Who may or may not have his feelings 100% figured out about Souta yet, but is clearly feeling some kind of way even if he hasn’t realized it fully. Who now thinks Souta likes Inoue, who he knows likes him instead. AND Souta just snuck off with Inoue after refusing to do the same with him. And we have Arashi, who clearly likes Nao, but Nao seems oblivious to despite everyone else picking up on it. Nao literally doesn’t understand why the whole group minus Keisuke is acting so weird. And Souta, who keeps pulling away without explanation, or lying to avoid getting too close to the truth that he just keeps adding to the miscommunication. Who sees the keychain and assumes Nao got it for her. Who assumes Nao is interested in her like that at all, just because she’s a girl and has things in common with him. (Meanwhile Nao is happy when Souta listens to his interests and is happy to watch Souta’s movies and go to the arcade because it makes Souta happy.) He’s so stuck comparing himself, that he doesn’t stop to question if he even likes her. Which, is because of fear I’m sure but… he believed him when he first said it wasn’t like that. Then the fear spiraled and made him believe he might like her despite what Nao said. And in the end Souta gave Arashi the tickets he’d been working towards all this time. Working at the job he told Nao was to buy new soccer shoes. And Nao seemed so concerned about him working so much and/or not spending time with him, that he bought the shoes for him! But Souta doesn’t know this because he hasn’t given him them yet! (The whole tickets/shoes fiasco almost reminds me of the gift of the magi trope simply because of all the irony going on. I seriously wonder if the half confession has something to do with them. “I got the job to surprise you with the tickets” vs “I got you the shoes because I missed spending time with you”.) Keisuke has so much power here. Just mention he doesn’t like Inoue anymore and the dominos will start tumbling. Please🙏

I really want Souta and Inoue to bond over this in a sense too. Mainly because she’d at least somewhat understand what he’s feeling. And I think Souta really needs that at this point because he’s NOT doing okay. I just think she’s such a patient and kind friend, and I can see her putting the pieces together and calmly accepting it like Keisuke did with the whole “Do you want me to know? — Then I know” conversation. He needs to not feel so alone in all this, even if it’s not the same with Inoue; he only has Keisuke to confide in and he obviously can’t talk to Nao about any of it.

GUYS!! A detail I just noticed and it’s SO SWEET AND CUTE!! When Souta was doing good, we see that Nao’s interactions with people were more happy and he was smiling. But after seeing Souta struggle, tired and even upset he has changed. You can check! Before he was smiling when talking to people when Souta was doing well. But then when he noticed Souta was off, Nao hasn’t smiled when interacting with Arashi or anyone else once. The only time he’s smiled the whole time was when he was talking to Souta about the keychain. It’s literally just Souta’s pain is Nao’s pain. It’s soooo cuteee
