I know that I comment really long rants on every chapter but I can't help it, honestly. This comic is SO well made. From the art to the characters to the story. When reading the whole chapter through, it's much easier to see things that may have gone unnoticed previously. Like Souta and Inoue slipping off after telling Nao that he didn't want to leave the group. I really am curious to see if Inoue knows about Souta's crush. There are so many questions that I can't wait to the get answers to! The expressions in this chapter are phenomenal. I love this art so much. I feel like this part of the story really shows just how well Nao and Souta know each other. Like Souta knowing that Nao doesn't drink soda AND knowing the reason why. Or like Nao being able to tell when something is wrong or remembering Souta's comment about playing the kazoo. Sometimes I wonder how these boys don't realize that their feelings are mutual. But, hey, that seems to be a normal thing. Either they're to scared to make a move because they don't want to ruin their friendship or they genuinely have no clue that they both like each other. I love them so much!! So excited to see what'll happen next!! (I forgot to mention how much I love Keisuke and Inoue's outfits. They bring me so much joy.)

This is torture I can’t take much more of this. I’m gonna break. All this miscommunication. Did nao buy the keychain for her or not. When does the truth come out because right now nao is gonna think souta ran away with her because he still likes her even though he don’t and souta still thinks nao likes arashi and if he don’t then the truth needs to come out that they like eachother because right now souta is hurting badly and nao is just pissing me off.

while reading this full chapter through i just realized arashi is probably thinking souta left with inoue to help her get on the ferris wheel alone with nao like yk what she said to souta in the beginning while getting drinks? To “help her get them alone on the ferris wheel so she can give him the tickets” Maybe thats why she said “Maybe they got lost on purpose” with a grin and a wink cuz shes tryna be flirty😭 I think she prolly meant it both ways though xD

Once all of the parts of a chapter is uploaded, I like to go back and reread my favorite chapters to get me ready and excited for the next chapter. I was going back and rereading and I realized that when I started reading this comic, I was younger than all the characters. Now, I’m well into college. It’s so cool that looking back through this series I remember reading certain chapters, how I felt, and how I have kind of grown up with this comic. It’s amazing how when I was just starting High school to now, I can still relate to the characters and their struggles. Thank you for giving us a comic Aina that so many different people can relate to and have grown up with.

List of things I’ve noticed re-reading: Souta’s panels turning static when he’s talking to Arashi Arashi absolutely not questioning why Souta knows such a specific detail about Nao disliking soda Nao looking at Souta when Arashi is handing him his tea Arashi being a liar about the rides being scary Arashi’s face when Takeo takes Nao for the roller coaster lol Arashi’s hair looks like confetti streamers in the wind How quickly Arashi was to ditch Keisuke after he got sick (I know he didn’t want people and they aren’t close but damb girl at least show some concern) How Arashi didn’t look back when leaving, but Nao told them they’ll bring more water The gift shop is a lot closer to where they were sitting than I thought The staggering difference in Souta’s vs Arashi’s memories of a basic guitar, showing just how little Arashi seems to know about Nao-Even tho she’s never seen his guitar, you’d think he would have mentioned playing it at some point. How Arashi fully had her back to Souta after she took the keychain from Nao (wtf) Souta’s panels immediately darkening when she shows up Nao not looking at Arashi as she’s talking to him as they’re walking In fact he only turns around when they realize Souta and Inoue are gone And lastly, he’s looks absolutely pissed (probably bc his offer to split was turned down and yet Souta left with Inoue) (Doesn’t help that the convo they had at his house about kissing is still fresh) (also once again, static panel) What a chapter. And seeing everything in full really helps set in motion how done Souta is with everything.

I don’t hate Arashi but her being so out of the loop compared to everyone else makes me mad TT. It’s not her fault but as a reader who knows everything, it makes her seem like the bad guy even though she’s just a girl trying to get her crush to like her if that makes any sense…

It's so painful to reread the recent chapters in full 😭 but also really good, the first episodes with Arashi already hit differently somehow. Like, I guess we know a bit more of her intentions by now, and I'm reassured that Nao always has Souta in mind even though he doesn't always act like it. And the art is truly peaking. It will hit hard when our idiots finally sort things out - can't wait for....2027ish 🙃

I really thought that this chapter would end with Arashi confessing to Nao and him turning her down. Really clear that Souta and Nao like each other but each think the other likes girls that being Inoue and Arashi respectively. Rereading this I quite liked how oblivious Arashi is, how she doesn't even realise that Nao might like Souta and just assumes that Souta is straight and likes Inoue.

I... am substantially more sympathetic to Arashi when I read this all together than I am reading them in the pts 1-12. Because if you look at her behavior in a vacuum you understandably see this as pretty rude behavior... but all together... it's harder not to realize that she's not happy that Inoue and the one guy are like seemingly actively trying to get in her way... so she's pushing into situations she might not if her desire to make moments happen weren't being thwarted. That being said. I still would like to lift her over my head and throw her down a well... I don't understand why Souta is doing this to himself though. He's just hurting himself to make the others happy but he's not making the one he wants to make happy, happy. Nao doesn't seem like he's having a particularly good time... and he knows something is wrong with the person he feels the closest to. Ah. YOUTH. I just want to dad Souta so f*****g bad, and I am so sad for him. Souta is either going to break or Nao is going to give us what we all want and just confess (probs during the Illumination). In whatever case I'll probably cry again.

While obviously Souta is going through a lot.. Poor Nao as well. Out of the whole group (Keisuke included, mind), Nao's the one to notice Souta's not doing well. Nao repeatedly asks throughout the day if Souta's doing okay, and offers to ditch the group so the two can spend time together. The raw honesty on Nao's face when he says "I can't stand it when you avoid me like this!" 😭😭 The last time Souta avoided him was during soccer camp, when Nao thought that Souta was angry at him specifically and didn't know how to fix it. Then Souta disappears, ditching the group (and more specifically Nao,) with Inoue. After Nao had offered to ditch the group with Souta earlier and Souta turned him down. Then to hit the nail on the head, Arashi implies that they left to be alone together for romantic reasons. Which Nao "knows" that Souta has feelings for Inoue. MAN THESE TWO BOTH REALLY GOING THROUGH IT WITH THESE SILLY STRAIGHT ASSUMPTIONS 😭😭😭😭😭

I was paying attention to honorifics in each chapter, and since Inoue always uses them, I couldn’t help but noticed how in Boys and Girls she said “Arashi” no honorifics, but here she went all “Rina-chan~” 😆 it kind of makes the whole “sabotaging rival” thing better.
