This actually is so clever and works so well cus they are actually unable to understand a very basic principle about each other and its BECAUSE of their mutual appreciation and admiration both have self confidence issues, and despite the fact we've mostly been exploring Souta's (cus the story is told from his point of view mostly) I do feel you could catch on Iseya's if you're paying enough attention, at least glimpses of it, he is alone almost always (even at home) and he must have some abandonment issues with his family, specially his mother, that can really make a number on you, feeling rejected by you OWN family And Souta can't see that cus he just sees how great Nao is, cus he sees more of his virtues and like shim so much is hard for him to imagine that maybe he doesn't like himself, and it's so amazing cus that's what happens the other way around too! Nao has a hard time understanding Souta's insecurities and how this whole thing has affected him so much because he sees so much value on him And they are both mad and confused of why the other one can't see how great themselves are It's so sweet and so on level with each other and f*cking marvelous writing cus all that comes across naturally and through a very grounded discussion and I love it and I can't wait for more!
