Seeing his dad now, points out Nao's slight resemblance to his mom. Such a well timed reveal. Please, he needs a hug. It's going to be heartbreaking to see how Nao reacts to this. Especially with his letters still hidden.

I feel like his father is trying his best. Work is so important in Japanese culture (the work day and hours seem horrendous) and normally there is always a parent that is away from home more than the other and his father is a single father, so double the work. He’s trying to make ends meet. It’s really interesting to be introduced to the father this way.
