i understand her frustration, having someone be busy and cancel all the time can really test a relationship. it feels like nao’s dad is prioritizing work over family, and leaving his wife to take care of two young (i assume emi is also young) kids is just a shitty thing to do.

I think Emi is probably like 4-6 years older than Nao-that would explain why she’s not in the house when Nao is older (I’m also going to assume Nao is 9-10 in this scene making Emi 13-16)

Oh, if this is how life went for awhile I understand why she left. Everyone needs attention in their own ways. I love this build up. It's making me even more curious about how they got to the not seeing each other point. I know divorces can be hard. There has to be a reason she stopped being around her baby. Some have said she knew she was sick and wanted to protect Nao from seeing her like that. Which brings about a second thought. Did she only stop seeing Nao? It's clear that Emi is much older than Nao. So she would have more freedom to go visit their mom. If she has been visiting her this whole time, or even just a few times, it'll hurt Nao that much more. 🥺

As a child who's dad sometimes can't show up to certain activities that are important due to work, I can feel the frustration through the screen. Keep up the amazing work! I loved The mom's facial expressions.
