Did Nao ever open the gift Souta gave him? If he hasn't I hope he does when Souta finds him, maybe taken together, they'll help him remiss on his childhood. Making an opening for him to grieve, instead of trying to ignore his feelings. I doubt that'll make him fall for Souta, but it would cement the level of care and friendship that Souta has toward him.

Something that hurts me is that the mother probably didn't want her to know that she had cancer or to see how her body had deteriorated, to be remembered as "pretty, smiling, and alive"... And now Nao is going to feel guilty for blaming her mother, and angry because she didn't say anything and didn't give him the opportunity to see her one last time...
