The parallels in your story, Aina!! This is exactly where they were during summer camp. Here they are again! Opposite positions, similar situations. One having to leave to avoid comfort before the tears start, the other unable to help. You've written this story SO WELL!! I look forward to whatever you give us next. But seriously Nao is going to burst into tears. His chest probably hurts from having to fight all these emotions and still breathe regularly.

You can see the light come back just with Souta’s touch… Nao knows Souta is important to him at this point, and I think it absolutely terrifies him. And if we’re really thinking about it, Nao probably hasn’t had any type of physical affection like that in YEARS, I’m sure he doesn’t know what to do with it. He’s being self destructive as a defense mechanism and it’s going to take a HUGE gesture of love/kindness for him to finally have that breakdown

I've been thinking about the forgotten Souta's bday present for Nao. Pretty sure he never opened it, we too never saw it again. Nao is probably realizing that Souta breaks easily all the walls he put to protect himself from loving someone and losing them. So he runs away. Nao will break down at some point, and I kind of wonder if the forgotten bday present and the little stars in it will be the tipping point 🥺 as much as I want Souta to chase him and comfort him, I think he has done enough at the moment, maybe next time it'll be Nao's turn to come to Souta AAAAAAA so much to think about. 100% sure Aina will surprise as usual 😎👌 can't wait to cry my eyes out

I really hope Souta goes after Nao instead of the game. I just feel like prioritizing Nao over the game might show Nao just how much Souta cares for him. Clearly nobody has prioritized Nao in a very very long time.
