Patreon billing issues (Patreon)

Hello everyone!Patreon has sent me (and I assume every other creator) a mail where they explain that some patrons may have their payments declined by their banks due to a an issue with their payment partner. I've heard from another source that it's because Patreon has changed their billing location but I'm honestly not 100% sure what is causing the issue.Either way, if your payment gets declined you can try the following:1. Contact your card issuer to confirm the charge is valid and retry that card

2. If the retry does not work, try a different payment method. Patrons can edit their payments in their Settings, under Billing History:

I'm sorry for the inconvenience and hope that not too many of you guys will be affected.

:0 i haven’t had a problem luckily due to using paypal but sucks to see so many creators affected by this :(

Wow, this is terrible! My bank flagged it and I validated the charges but it’s making me go back and like redo my memberships as if I never had one before. I did yours first but the second one I tried to recharge denied and I’m wondering if it’s been flagged again. I’m gonna email patreon, this is garbage! I’m sorry you’re going through this, there are some tiers I guess were grandfathered in and I don’t know if I’ll continue my memberships that I’ll have to pay so much more for. I hope that doesn’t happen for you! 💗

My bank flagged it as fraud on the 1st, but luckily all I had to do was reply to a text telling them it was authorized. No other issues since, I hope it's this simple for others!

This feels like something Patreon should be fixing on their end, not passing the onus onto you and other creators.

I changed my payment method from card to PayPal, but I still had to re-add my memberships. What a pain! Also, their so-called Support is useless.

My bank refunded it all even though I accepted the charge, so I lost like 8 of the Patreons I’m subbed to (luckily stilled subbed to you though). I even tried calling my bank telling em it was fine, but they said I have to have Patreon recharge me as nothing else can be done on my bank’s end, but if this issue hit everyone else then I’m SOL. It looks like I might have to resub to all my Patreons, but I’m afraid to do so yet if they’re “still fixing the problem” and seeing other people say their card might deny it. I really don’t like using PayPal so I’m delaying having to make one just for this. What an absolute pain. 😞 I wonder how many artists lost money this month because of this issue.

it told me to change my payment method but i just retried to put my same payment method and it ended up working so 😀😂
