Hi James, Chelsea and the Man the Myth the Legend Zoran.

Adrian Morales

So excited this movie got a kill count so fast

Ben Trieschmann

It won 3 awards. Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Production Design.

Jake Tranter

Del Toro giving the majority what they wanted and that's to see the monster feel at ease and finally be free, somewhat.

matthew james Stromberg

Your opinion is understandable james ironically i dont like the original psycho film

IanThePlebian

I liked the film overall, and I disagree with James on some of his criticisms, but good lord, that "You are the monster" line is just so painfully on-the-nose that it actually made me cringe.

Jose Alvarado

Is that a real butterfly in the jar?

Kenneth

Oh hell yeah, can't wait for Psycho. Now I just hope you have Chelsea do the Psycho remake lol

BadCorps

I understand the opinion that the movie isn't as complex as the novel, but I would imagine that's somewhat influenced by the era this movie was released. The rise of modern authoritarianism brought on by the notion that you can just point to someone who looks different than you, say "a monster! kill it", and never consider that the "monster" is another human being who is capable great things if they are properly raised to do so. Victor never takes credit for the creation he made by subjecting it to such inhumane conditions. He's embodying "I've tried nothing and I'm out of ideas". Is it a bit too preachy at times? Sure, but I think much like The Substance, it's a great movie to have a discussion about.

Meat Master

Please go back to the hellraiser and puppet master movies

Mara Copland

I’m really glad someone else felt the same about this. I wanted to like it, but… eh. I appreciate the vision and the work that went into it, but it wasn’t for me.

Jeffrey Canam [GrahfMetal]

I LOVE this film. I've watched it about 5 times now, and it's become one of my all-time favorites

MissingShades

I think what is interesting about this film is it truly is Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein. It's essentially him telling the story as he probably first understood it when he watched it as a child but reconstructed for a more mature mind. It's not merely an adaptation in that regard, if that makes sense. He's been on record several times stating the profound impact this story had on him, and that's something I can relate to really well. I don't remember a time in my life EVER that I didn't know about the Frankenstein story. I remember looking through a baby book my mom kept that had drawings of the creature I must've made when I was like two or three years old. So that's why lots of critiques of this movie kinda miss the mark for me. They're always focused on how themes and elements of the story we normally associate with Frankenstein take a backseat to all the things Del Toro wanted to investigate (Parenthood and the mark our parents leave on us, feeling like one is a monstrosity, the incredible loneliness and cruelty of the world, a longing for death that just isn't possible, forgiving those who hurt you, I could go on), which essentially amount to refusing to buy into the direction GDT is going with this movie. I can respect that, but it just seems more like a rejection of the premise of the film than a critique.

I cant believe the guy from death stranding is making a movie
