Hi all thank you for voting for this months commentary track winner Deep Red!

A psychic medium (Macha Méril) is brutally murdered, and musician Marcus Daly (David Hemmings) feels a need to solve the case, since he was the one who discovered the body. Working with him is reporter Gianna Brezzi (Daria Nicolodi), who hopes for a big scoop by solving the case. When one of Marcus's own friends ends up murdered at the hands of the same killer, the resourceful pair realize they must work fast to uncover the murderer's identity or they might serve as the maniac's next victims.

Can y'all start adding the list of previous Commentary Tracks again in the text or restore a tag that includes all of them? For some reason, there is no longer a collection at the top, so it's hard to find the old content - much less a specific item among one of the tiers. Thanks so much for any help you can give!

I was looking forward to this and I had such a great time watching and listening to the commentary. Thanks James and Chelsea!

Alixandra Bamford

Great commentary track. I hope you do that episode with Joe Lynch, just saw his most recent film at a Toronto Festival. The child-running-into-arms scare you are thinking of is from Shock (1977)

What's interesting in Giallos is that it makes sense to their original audience that a rando would investigate the crime. Having just come out of fascist dictator just a few decades before, the idea that the government or the police would actually try and solve a crime unless forced would be laughable to them.

John Carr

The director’s cut has a brief scene just after the school sequence where a doctor is telling Marcus that Gianna will be ok, and then he walks away and it goes into the final sequence.

Joel Myers

This may not be interesting to literally anyone, but I work at a picture frame shop right now as a result of the strike, and I literally had to catalogue like 15 different versions of the James Deen, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Humphrey Bogart version of that Nighthawk diner painting like not even a month ago. Theres a shocking amount of variations haha

Dead Meat

That's actually hilarious, thank you for sharing haha

Yeah Josh, I'll see what we can do about adding that list back to the posts!
