Heya everyone, today I'm doing something different and doing somewhat of a review and sharing a bit of behind the scenes which may also interest artists who use Poser or 3d figures.

Recently my inbox was bombarded with messages to try out a new figure that came out called La Femme.  The description depicts it as the new hot figure for poser artist so I caved and got the figure along with some HD morphs.

If you don't know, Poser software has been locked in using V4 as the main female figure for quite a long time while Daz gets more detailed figures.  On the other hand V4 has so many options and I've made V4 work for a long time because I created so many custom morphs and it just worked. La femme was made to combat the lack of detailed figures and from what I've seen it's a good figure with potential and it's just been fun playing around with something new.

As of right now there aren't many clothes to pair with this figure but I see that people are quickly making new object for her on renderosity so there may be tons of options in a few months. A few hair pieces are being made as well but V4 hair pieces can also be fitted to La Femme, she even has an option to shape her Head to V4 to make hairs fit properly.

Every piece of her has a dial to move a specific part of her body and you can even use V4 poses and they actually translate pretty well. The hands need more work to pose though, and making a fist with La femme is easy but somehow doesn't look right probably because of her slim fingers which are meant to be extended.

The default body is a bit to slim and smooth for me which is why I got the HD morphs and what a difference that makes. It makes La femme more realistic with various muscle tones but you have to light her properly to show it off. The face doesn't have many options though. I feel like her default face is a bit too long and there aren't a lot of dials to change the shape of the eyes, lips, or nose which means every La Femme figure will look similar although I'm sure there are people who are working on adding face morphs.

Now as to why I got this figure. First off, I liked the images I've seen of it. Second, I wanted to play around with a new model that wasn't V4. And third, I wanted to see if it had potential for a tg comic. La femme has no major body morphs at the moment, including male morphs. So the only thing I could do is make my own morphs. I am no expert in creating body morphs but I did my best to make a Male version of La Femme and I have to say, it doesn't look too bad. The skin materials and the figure really lend them selves to some nice transformations. I'm sure when someone with more experience tries to make a male La Femme it's going to look great.

The male version above is the Muscle version which I applied more muscle tone. I also made a neutral and obese version which I'll share soon. The male model wasn't the only thing I worked on.

As I mentioned, I thought the default version of La femme was too thin so I went and applied some muscle on her too. She also has the HD morphs which I think turned out great.

The morphs really don't mean anything if I can't make them work for stories so I needed to make sure that they blended  together. So I treated it as an animation to see the transition and it definitely has potential for a future animation.

So overall, it's a great model. Give it a month and I'm sure there will be plenty of clothing options but right now she's just a model for portraits. I did run into a problem where making her smile would sink the cheek but that may have been from my custom morph.  And if you don't know how to create custom morphs you may be stuck with the basics at the moment.

If you're a poser Artist I recommend trying it out even if its just playing with the dials. You can get it for free on Renderosity, unfortunately you need to spend 3.50 on an item to check out.

I've already created a short sequence with her which I'll share soon. For now I'll leave you with this pic. The male version is thinner and I adjusted the female face so it wouldn't look so long.

I've also made this post public in case anyone is interested in the figure or anyone getting into 3d modeling.
