Was originally called 'The Professional' but I think that was in conflict with another movie by the same name. This is where we all fell in love with Natalie Portman and was introduced to Jean Reno and Gary Oldman. Also, this was the 2nd movie I watched by Luc Besson. The first was 'La Femme Nikita'. Both are my favorites. Great acting and directing all-around.

Might have been in conflict with the movie The Professionals with Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, and Jack Palance. A western about people hired to rescue the wife of a railroad tycoon

Enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing

If there would be a sequel for this film Matilda would turn out to be a Cleaner too. Natalie Portman of course would return as well as Jean Reno. Matilda would talk to Leon in her mind throughout the film while Cleaning. Sometimes he would lecture her to keeping her from breaking his rules on Cleaning. I think that would be cool.

They could do it, but Luc Besson has been outed as a very problematic sex pest. He’s a great director but a terrible person
