Darin Starr

Years ago I started watching DS9, and I made it to this episode and was like...ok yeah, I'm done. And I left it alone for a couple years until someone twisted my arm and basically forced me to continue. I'm glad I did, but this episode sucks haha

Dylan

Thank you for everything you do Jen. Your reactions are always the highlight of my day.

Summer

Great episode for Jake and dad and Jake and Odo

Robert Cooper

Well, you've now experienced the nadir of DS9. It's all gravy from here.

Desmond

So true, it's much better from here lol

Henchman Twenty1

Despite this episode being a low point of the series I thought that the sets and costumes were intersting, at least with the design and color scheme anyway. Otherwise - Blech!

Dean

I think you’ll find Jake a better written kid than Wesley. Wesley’s concept was essentially as a Gene Roddenberry proxy of “gifted child” while Jake is a person who grows and learns and finds themselves in a much more organic way. His relationship with his dad is such a key component of the show in much the same way ALL the relationships on the show are much more essential than most of the rest of Trek. For example, I don’t know if I could tell you much about the dynamics of the relationship of Bones and Uhura or Geordi and Riker, but I could dive very deep into any iteration of pairings with the DS9 characters and even some recurring characters.

Dean

The rank order at this point is: -Sisko (Commander) -Kira (Major) -Dax (Lieutenant) -Bashir (Lieutenant Jr Grade) -O’Brien (Chief Petty Officer)

Dean

Odo is security chief of the station and isn’t really under the Starfleet chain of command, but Sisko and Kira can give him orders

Nathan Cline

Odo's position is complicated. He's like the police chief of the town. He His security control is mostly independent but walks a line between Starflleet administration, and Bajoran jurisdiction. In theory he could jail anyone on the command staff if they violate local law. As will be seen, his desire to do things his way sometimes conflicts with how Starfleet likes things done

TC Green

I consider this the worst episode of the entire series, but there is one more in this season that runs it a close second but I don’t want to say anything to bias you against it before you see it.

TC Green

And Kira’s rank is of course Bajoran and the equivalent of a Lt Commander in Starfleet.

Summer

If people watch this thinking it was about the game they will hate it if they watch thinking of Odo, Quark, and Jake they will like it more

Jake

I don’t mind this episode, really. I think it’s certainly better than episode 8: Dax.
