Kane Is Able

Let's see... A Richard Donner movie that you might have seen... He's done some super movies, but he is just a man. He's not a lethal man though, and I don't know if he carries a weapon. Nope. I can't think of a movie.

Kane Is Able

James Garner played Maverick in the original TV show. So he was brought back for the movie, to play Coop, Maverick's farher. That's another wink at the audience younger viewers don't know.

I don't think Jen recognized Doc Ock.

Jason Scade

He's a master of disguise. Indy didn't spot him either.

Paul Grodt

Oh jeez, this was such a sleeper success. I remember seeing this at a dollar theater, and the print they had was so lousy that it burned out, not once, but twice. I'd never experienced that before. The film gets stuck. And the heat of the projector light is so strong that it literally sets the celluloid on fire. Since it was a comedy film, I thought it was just a gag. But no, we had to sit there and wait for the projectionist to fix the thing.

If you enjoyed this you'd love Support Your Local Gunfighter, With Garner and Jack Elam.

Jack Elam is the actor from The Cannonball Run who played the "doctor" with the lazy eye who ran with Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise.

Also featured for a brief moment at the start of Once Upon a Time in the West

I haven't seen that, though I know it's considered a seminal Western. 👍

I think it's probably Sergio Lione's best film now I think about it. Maybe the best score and the best villain? It was really clever to cast Henry Fonda as the bad guy as he's always been typecast as the hero in film.
