This week we'll get into more SEINFELD and a double dose of DS9 for TREK! Don't worry, next week will be a double dose of TNG and after that we're back to 1 DS9 and 1 TNG each week until the end of TNG! Also checking out another front page request -- THE MASK which was way zanier than I expected and featuring an amazing DOGGGG!!! ♡♡

Speaking of dogs, my doggo Boston is being such a good big brother to my new baby - he checks on him and brings him toys and keep stealing his socks and then I find them in his dog bed. It's really the cutest thing ever ♡ In other pet news, my cat Fatty is finally losing a little weight on his diet food he's been on for 8 months so I need to come up with a new name for him I guess! Do cat's know their name? Fatty doesn't seem to, but Skinny knows his name I think 🤷 Maybe Fatty is just playing it cool 😆

I hope everyone is having a lovely summer! it's been beautiful weather here and I'm just loving the summer evenings when it's not too hot and there's a little breeze and the air smells like sweet flowers.

I miss seeing Boston on camera!! I am def looking forward to The Mask! 1994 was a crazy year for Jim Carrey, he did The Mask, Dumb & Dumber, *and* Ace Ventura: Pet Detective(w/ the first two being in the top 10 highest grossing films of the year). Insane run for Jim Carrey in an already great year for movies.

I'm very happy Boston is better. He's not stealing them, it's 'socks tax' for the baby care. No, perhaps he's taking them so he still feels near to him in his dog bed. New cat name; Not-so Fatty. A brand new Alien (the Xenomorph) series begins on Aug 12th, shown on FX and FX On HULU. It's by Noah Hawley, creator of the recent & awesome Fargo series and stars Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood, Die Hard 4.0) and others. Executive producer Ridley Scott. It's practically guaranteed to be great. You should consider being the first/one of the 1st persons on YT to do it. Surely, that show would bring a lot of views/new subs.

Are you going to work the airdate order thing in with the TNG movies? If not, would you like to know which episode of DS9 to get past (and Star Trek: Voyager if you plan to watch it) to get past to avoid spoilers from certain movies? On a completely unrelated note, I consider spoiling in movies different from foreshadowing something that happens later in a series...

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

Now that I'm looking ahead, Rivals might be the last of the early seasons meh episodes. It's not bad by any means but I really feel like we start the serious DS9 ascension from this week onwards. I'd be hard pressed to come up with another "meh" ep until sometime in season 3. I'm not much of a movie person, I'm mainly here for the Trek. But the Mask should be fun for sure.

Sounds like things are going well - glad to hear it! It's hard to remember all the storylines in each Seinfeld episode, there's always so much going on. But The Fusili Jerry is a classic! DS9...we're getting closer and closer to the show getting better, i swear. Then it gets great. Then it gets even better!

Rivals opens an important door to a character arc later in the season. Cats do know their names it is their prerogative to respond. So great Boston is bonding with the baby. Many dogs I have known have been distressed when their baby human cries.

"brings him toys and keep stealing his socks" "Stealing?!?!?!" I object to this vile libel of Boston's character! Surely it is obvious that what we have here is a simple manifestation of the free market: a trade of toys for socks. :-)

Some cats know their names, but I think it's more the sound of the name they probably recognise. When we changed our cat's name years ago after we adopted him he went from Blacky to Stealthy and learned his new name very quickly. So changing from Fatty to two-syllables ending in y or ie should be okay. Unless your cat doesn't react to their name in which case it doesn't matter what you call them.

Regarding renaming Fatty, I am annoyed. I want to share a routine I've seen describing stereotypical humorless Germans not relating to the concept of ironic nicknames, but I just can't find it. Oh well.

Maybe you can rename Fatty to Odo, since his shape is shifting. We name our cats after science fiction characters we like. We've had Yoda, who was our fattiest fat cat, Chewy, Spock, Tribble, Saavik, Quark, and now we have Scotty and Kirk, and along with a few others who are named for lesser known characters in the sci fi universe. Ours do know their names. Though they often times ignore us when we call them.

My most recent cats are sci-fi named too. Gallifrey and Raxacoricofallapatorius. Frey and Rax for short. They're young so they're just learning their names. Not that they pay attention at all. I get funny looks at the vet

Oh, they know their names and they understand quite a bit of language - if they want to (Mine know "Food", "Outside", "Rain", "Bedtime",.. we talk to them a lot). And they remember and distinguish humans. I've a cat that keeps its distance from people she doesn't know well. She hasn't seen my brother for a long time and she doesn't keep any distance at all. So she has to remember him.
