Megamind is amazing and its nice to see it getting some love now

streaky

This poll is stacked.. :)

Gary Poussard

Jen will love Hot Tub Time Machine I think.

Johan Petur Klüver Dam

Nothing really stands out to me here but I’m going with How to Train Your Dragon because in this movie but especially in the 2025 live action remake, the Isle of Berk is based on the islets of Tindhólmur and Drangarnir in the Faroe Islands which is also where I happen to be from. :)

Alexis Vorian

My votes go for The Social Network and The King's Speech.

Jason Scade

Good choices. I do love Coen's True Grit, only saw the original T.G. for the first time last year. It was excellent, I was surprised by how much I was into it. Would re-watch it for sure. Some people will be pleased 'How To Train Your Dragon' is on the poll. :D I've seen it requested a bunch. Didn't catch it myself, yet.

Rob Nichols

Is it just a coinkidink that everything's from 2010 or is there a theme here?

Jason Scade

I think I've added Hereditary to Jen's request site/list already. I thought it was excellent. As is very recent horror/drama 'Companion'. Both star Sophie Thatcher. 😍 Two hugely recommended modern horrors. Edit; I'd gotten Hereditary mixed up with Heretic (2024). It's the latter I've added to Jen's movie/TV request site. Someone else (with great taste) has added Companion, it got my upvote. ♥ It was excellent.

Jen Murray

This time I drew the Producer's Pick first and then chose the highest voted from that year on request site 👍

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

When I first scrolled down the list I thought one option was THE NICE GUYS but The Other Guys is ok also 😆

Richard Thrust

I genuinely wish I'd never seen Hereditary or Midsommar, and Alien is my favorite franchise. I understand why horror fans love it -it's a beautifully made film- but it would traumatize Jen.

Kristin

How to Train Your Dragon is at the top for me. Such a fun and satisfying movie. Also, The King's Speech is amazing, and it does not get any reactor love. It's a fantastic film, with great writing, acting, and heart.

Brian Leonard

I've seen The Other Guys and The Expendables so I voted for those movies.

Rob Nichols

I read it as Tough Guys first, a bit of wishful thinking of course.

Richard Thrust

Not to me; it's the scares and adrenaline of horror that are fun. Prometheus and Alien: Covenant are gory and fairly scary. Hereditary is dehumanizing, but not really scary.

Tyrone Tyrone

1. Unstoppable (2010) 2. Hot Tub Time Machine

mikethemotormouth

What I mean is if the viewer is affected with fear/terror/dread/etc., then great! The filmmakers have done their job in making someone feel something. If they can make those feelings last long after the viewing and keep you thinking about what it is you saw, then that's perfect.

Jason Scade

I forgot that movie existed, until just earlier this year. Then remembered I went to see it in the cinema, newly released. I'm becoming what I laughed at. 😭 Poetic justice.

Jason Scade

@Richard "Hereditary is dehumanizing, but not really scary." My friend, dehumanization is scary.

Jason Scade

@Richard Hi Richard, I beg your pardon. In our texts, I've gotten Hereditary (2018) confused with Heretic (2024), though I have seen both. It's Heretic and Companion (2025) that both star Sophie Thatcher and are the two modern horrors that I intended to highly recommend. I have seen Hereditary too. And yes, I fully agree with your original comments. It is utterly dark, demonic and truly traumatizing. Absolutely not for everyone. Heavier than The Exorcist.

l.h. riley

Oof 2010 was not a great film year, eh?

James Owen

True Romance. You need to see that movie.

Most of these are kinda meh to me, but i did vote for Megamind (a cute and cool movie) and Salt, which is one of those I haven't seen yet, but I'd like to. I think it is an action movie that looked interesting to me.

Byrd N. Hand

"Black Swan" is my favorite film from this year, as well as one of my favorites of the 2010's. Darren Aronofsky doesn't nearly enough love from reactors. I know he's a bit of an acquired taste, but if you can acuire it, he's great. As a Coen Brothers fan, I'll also vote for "True Grit" (though I think it's one of their more mid-range films), as well as "The Town," which I'd consider Ben Affleck's best directorial effort.

Byrd N. Hand

Still beats most of the last several years, I'd say. The very safe, Oscar bait-y "King's Speech" winning Best Picture that year was probably the biggest disappointment. 🤔

zynjams

glad True Grit is winning, although the original True Grit is my favorite western, the new one exceeded my expectations

Toc

Always interested in "Social Network" reactions. PS: Love the idea of picking a year! I actually keep a list and looked at my 2010 entries.....the only one I don't see on this poll is "Winter's Bone", although I wouldn't expect that to win! But for yourself, that's one of the best of the year. (There were actually a lot of good documentaries in 2010; I think the documentaries of the 21stc century have been better than a lot of the movies from the same time period! :D )

Bammer

I'd vote for True Grit if it were the 1969 John Wayne version.

Eric Janssen

I voted None of the Above. I get the theme, but life’s too short for 2010 films.

Opti_Frog

Easy A deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Clueless and Mean Girls.

Major Peril

Oh... I get it, a 2010 poll, sure... but why? How to Train Your Dragon and Megamind would stack well in an Animation poll, but here I have to go with Black Swan and True Grit, although you really should see the original True Grit (1969) first.

Ian

True grit 1969 is already on Jen's channel

Ian

Jens reaction to true grit 1969 has been on her channel for quite a while

Major Peril

DOH! You are correct, sir! How did I miss that? Now I have to go and watch it! 😁 Nevermind...

Jen Murray

Make sure you check out my reaction to the 1969 original if you missed it

Jen Murray

I drew the Producer's Pick first and then chose the highest voted from that year on the request site. Cause, why not?

Summer

Everyone search the request site well to get all movies or such you want higher ranking to make it here soon, especially family movies

zynjams

I'm rewatching now, I loved your reaction

Jason Scade

'Pi' (1998) by Darren Aronofsky has been recommended a few times. A paranoid genius mathematician searches for a key number that will unlock the universal patterns found in nature.

Ensign Ahkinum

I voted for Hot Tub Time Machine because I am from that timeline.

Amarant Coral

I was just looking through a list of 2010 movies. If 127 Hours or Tron Legacy made it to the list I would have definitely voted for those. Though I can understand waiting on Legacy since the original Tron hasn't been watched yet.

Clay F

Excellent poll. Many good choices. Glad to see True Grit (2010) [RT 95%] winning. I took my kid to see in theater on Christmas Eve 2010. Nom 10 Oscars incl. Best Picture, Best Actor (Jeff Bridges), Best Supporting Actress (Hailee Steinfeld), Best Directing (Coen Brothers), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design. I voted for only these 7: True Grit (2010) Black Swan (2010) The King's Speech (2010) The Town (2010) The Social Network (2010) Easy A (2010) (I love this movie) Unstoppable (2010) (saw in theater)

Summer

I didn’t know what I wanted to vote for then but now I want to add the King’s speech
