Omg this movie is so charming! Tom Hanks absolutely nailed it playing a kid in an adult's body - I loved the attention to detail of how a kid would do even the smallest things. Made me want to go jump on a trampoline and ride bikes! Any other Tom Hanks comedies we should check out?

If you want more Tom Hanks then I cannot recommend enough the first "Toy Story" films (that is at least the first 3, no one will blame you if you decide not to bother with the 4th one). Not only are they funny but they'll also have you in tears.

Two of my favorite earlier Tom Hanks movies is "Nothing in Common," also with Jackie Gleason and, probably my favorite, "Joe vs. The Volcano."

I love this movie. The piano scene is so iconic, it’s such a beautiful wholesome moment.

I'd also like to suggest "Splash" if you're interested. A fun romantic comedy starring Hanks alongside the truly beautiful Daryl Hannah and your fellow Canadians Eugene Levy and John Candy.

Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson

Yesss! Tom Hanks' comedies are awesome! The 'Burbs Turner & Hooch Dragnet The Money Pit

Tom Hanks comedies - the ‘Burbs is always my top choice. It seems hit and miss with reactors but it’s a cult classic. Maybe it just depends which cult a person is in… 🤷‍♂️

This movie is from his post-Splash! but pre-Forrest Gump era. It was his first big, big(no pun intended) hit. Splash!(a comedy) was his first minor hit. He got his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor for this.

Dungarees is an old word for jeans.

Knew you would love this one Jen , there's a kid in all of us and tom hanks shows that brilliantly 🙂

The Money Pit is my favorite 80s Tom Hanks movie.

I remember when this movie came out, I was 12 like the kid characters. Each time I see it, it brings me back at that time. THis movie was a turning point for Tom Hanks. Before that he was mostly doing comedies and sometimes quite silly ones- however still good - . But this movie showed how good he could be in a serious role and the rest is history. One of my favorite Tom Hanks comedies from the 80s is a little known gem called Volunteers. Either people forgot about it or did not see it but it's one of my favorite comedies ever. It also features John Candy in a smaller but still incredible performance.

Splash and Bachelor Party

I can tell that you watch the movie as a mom now. Susan is the real victim here, she didn't do anything wrong.

Splash had an impact on America, and some of the world. Before Splash, no known newborn girl had been named Madison. Within a year or two after Splash, Madison was the number one name for newborn girls in the USA. It's calmed a little since then.

Harvey Lee

I've seen that same Zoltan fortune teller or a mock up version of it in a vintage shop An early role and hit for Tom Hanks , I hope you react to The Burbs and Dragnet one day as well .😀🤘

Ha! I fold laundry the same way, bunch it up and stuff it in the drawer lol.

It was great seeing this movie in the theatre. Other than his big blockbuster movies, I'd suggest 'Splash', which was a Ron Howard movie and Hanks' first movie, and 'A League of Their Own', also a Penny Marshall movie. I'd also like to recommend 'DaVinci's Code', another Ron Howard film.

Susan is gonna need years of therapy after this

Summer

Thinking of what I will recommend on the request site next month, leaning toward baby boom, I would think of a Christmas movie but since TNG is ending 😪 Patrick Stewart’s Christmas carol needs more votes.

Jonas

A League of Their Own is great, and it's the same directory as Big, Penny Marshall. That Thing You Do is also great, and it was the first feature film Tom Hanks directed.
