What a treat. Futurama is my favourite tv show! 🔥

Ian

Futurama is great really looking forward to getting your view on it and judging by the awesome thumbnail you're having a great time , this should be epic 🔥

Geoff S.

Jen, have you seen Willy Wonka yet? There may be a spoiler in eps. 13 of season 1.

William Rosmer

i admit i skimmed a bit but it looks like those are the same order just a question of where the season breaks are?

Danny Roberts

Agreed, it just looks like the two sources can't agree on where one season ends and the next begins. The actual episodes are in the same order though from what I looked at.

Kristin

This is so awesome! Go with the list on IMDB. That is the original airdate order. Episode 72 is the end of the first run of Futurama. They took a break for a few years and did a bit of a reboot of the series after that.

Jen Murray

Season 2 some of the episodes are in different order, for instance Put Your Head on My Shoulders, A Clone of My Own, and Mother's Day

rubberkidney

totally out of left field, i must not pay attention to anything you post thats not a reaction. maybe i just dont remember this poll..

Jen Murray

Didn't do a poll for this. But I just posted a schedule with it on there

Danny Steele

I am looking forward to watching this, while having a drink

Cody Cameron

Will watch this in a bit with you Jenn. But thanks for this I sure hope we continue this show. I love it

William Rosmer

Oh I see it now later half of s2 early s3. I remember the commentaries saying something about broadcast order vs production order in earlier seasons. That said I don't think its anywhere near as big a concern as with Firefly. So whichever order you choose should be fine

rubberkidney

got me with the 'voyager on a knifes edge' news recently too

William Rosmer

That was the Honeymooners not I Love Lucy

Harvey Lee

Futurama is absolutely hilarious by the same team which created the Simpsons as you can see from the animation style , I will check this out after work !!😃

Curran Dobbs

The voice actor who does Bender also does the voice of a character in Final Fantasy X with an accent that seems similar to the Hawaii accent.

Geoff S.

There's a lot of 80's, 90's cultural references and TONS of visual background jokes going on so you have to stay alert with this show.

Vina

I love this show, there are sooo many little funny details and references. For example, the beer Fry is drinking in the beginning of episode 1 is Lobrau (spelled like a German beer brand, but is just "low brow"), and the frozen for 1000 years thing and watching the world around him crumble and get built back up is a reference to the movie "The Time Machine" (which I know you've seen)

Tom W.

YES!!!!

Alexis

Holy carp, this came out of nowhere! Did we have a poll and I forgot or just an executive decision (also worthy of a reaction btw)?

Matt

Welcome to the world of tomorrow!

Kristin

Professor Farnsworth shares his name with Philo Farnsworth, who developed the Television. He later called the TV a terrible invention and a colossal waste of time. 😂

I wouldn't sweat the episode order too much, its pretty serialized, as long as you don't mix up season order

Wesley

Pretty cool they got Nimoy for the pilot episode. Also I love how all the doors sound exactly like Star Trek, even the button sounds on the ship are straight from TOS. Having not seen these first two episodes in years, they are much slower paced than what I remember. Although looking at the season 1 episode list there are some classic episodes in there. Very excited for Futurama, whenever we get.

one of my FAVORITE animated shows EVER!!!!

Uh, here we just call it "THE WOORLD OF TOMORRROW"

I wasn't aware of the production vs broadcast order difference and wanted to find out more. In short, IMDB has the "correct" or production order. The linked site has a table that shows the differences. It seems like the order of episodes didn't change until midway through the 2nd season. However, the 1st season broadcast had only 9 episodes and the 1st season production broadcast had 13 episodes. The last four episodes were broadcast as the first four in season 2. https://theinfosphere.org/Episode_Listing

re: Viewing Order Looked through the lists, and they are reallllly minimal. like having 25-24 vs 24-25 in certain places. You should be fine with either order, and there are plenty of fans like me who will happily answer questions lololol

TheADHDOverlord

oh yeah.... this series will be a Fantastic introduction into the type of animation and humor you can expect once you get to Star Trek Lower Decks (another of my favorite animated series ever)

seven tessipates

errily like VOY season 1/2 Voyager has a short first season but four eps from season 2 were produced in season 1, an tbh they kinda flow better there

Jeff Seely

Futurama is a show I didn't really watch back when it first aired. I saw maybe half a dozen episodes out of the entire series. So, I'm happy to have an excuse to basically watch the entire show for the first time.

This is a side note, but those claw machines actually ARE rigged. They are programmed to pay out only after they take in a certain amount of money. They do this by varying the amount of power they send to the "claw" to make its grip weaker or stronger.

James Gilmore

It’s been awhile since I’ve watched all the way through the credits. I forgot it says 30th Century Fox at the end.
