Jen + Seinfeld = an awesome reaction and lots of laughs 🔥

Goodbye to Larry David… he thought everyone would follow after he left, but Jerry continued on two more seasons… Larry still does Steinbrenner’s voice, but no more writing on the show until the finale. (which I enjoyed)

The decision to kill off Susan in that way was actually pretty controversial when that episode first aired; a lot of people apparently found it in poor taste... despite the fact that this season also saw Jerry mugging an old woman for a loaf of bread. 🤷‍♂️ The actual George Steinbrenner was also originally supposed to appear in this finale, but his scenes were ultimately cut. It was probably for the best, since I feel it would've been hard to go back to the usual mode of just seeing the back of his head with him wildly gesturing as he talked after that. The DVD set does, however, include these excised scenes, including a particularly amusing bit where he's having lunch with Elaine and she's giving him the 'Steinbrenner treatment,' where, like George, he eventually gets sick of it and leaves.

Yes, his (creative) departure is probably why I (and quite a few others) feel the last 2 seasons aren't as consistent (the last one especially). 🤔

M Zed

Definitely a difference, I still enjoy a lot.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, it wasn't a *massive* dropoff in quality; it was more like going from an A to a B+. They wisely knew to quit while they were still relatively ahead; the show never genuinely got to the point where it started to wear out its welcome, à la Roseanne, The Office, Murphy Brown, Home Improvement, or That '70s Show, to name a few.

Oh wow, was that J.G. Hertzler introducing Mickey's acting scene? Getting all the DS9 actors! I just watched the episode yesterday that had Armin Shimerman in it

There's a story from Larry David where he was apparently trying to get back on the lot for the taping of an episode where he had to voice Steinbrenner, but he no longer had approval to enter so security was trying to figure out who he was -- and he's just like "THAT'S MY SHOW IN THERE"

Larry’s “GETTING UPSET!”

Summer

yes JG was the captain of the Saratoga in the Emmissary, so yes that is great. With Jen enjoying season 3 now, if she looks back that would be great to notice

We’re finally here

Susan means Lilly

I've been waiting for this episode!!! Susan is finally gone!!!!

It's funny you say the last episode isn't as good since Larry left, since Larry wrote it.

“Why did you kill that poor girl?” was how Larry David’s mom responded to seeing The Invitations. The entire scene at the hospital is some of my favorite awkward comedy of all time.

Hay that was Milton from Office Space as the bank manager
