Dylan

Jen blessing us with some more DS9. Can’t ask for anything better đŸ”„đŸ––

Curran Dobbs

I kind of want a reaction video of the original Disney's The Little Mermaid just to see if you recognize the voice of the French chef...

TC Green

Nog in Heart of Stone is the B story but more interesting to me. The character's best outing so far for sure.

Curran Dobbs

"Humanity that Bureil has left"? Bashir, don't you mean "Barjoranity that Buriel has left?"?

Lee

"Heart of Stone" is one of DS9's finest episodes and a personal favorite of mine. Anything else I say could spoil future episodes, so I'll just leave it at that.

Julian San

I get teary eyed over Bareil now that I’m following more closely in these watch alongs. And I was under the impression Jen already got spoiled that Nog wanted to join Starfleet. She mentioned back in season 1 that she had heard Nog would go places lol

Banes

Bareil was really good in Life Support - his best outing as the character. Sad! And Heart of Stone is a great episode, top to bottom. I flipped out over the Nog storyline in that one, too! And the scene where Odo points the phaser at fake Kira and she reveals herself is an epic one. Sometimes I just go in and watch that scene.

Paul Peavler

It turns out there is a Starfleet Academy show that comes out next year starring Holly Hunter. They just released the first full trailer for it a few weeks ago. Although, without getting into spoilers, it takes place in a very different era than TOS or TNG/DS9/Voyager that you haven’t seen yet, so it may not be something you want to jump into without having seen any of Trek from the 2017 and later era.

Eric Rinehart

Probably be my last or 2Nd to last full watchalong for star trek since only have Netflix subscription in Canada to watch star trek until I find another way till then going to enjoy the early uploads when can as the 8th of January will be last time be available for

Summer

The moment Nog said he wanted to join starfleet I became obsessed with the idea thankfully I was watching on DVD and could see the whole series quickly

Andrewski 2112

Great DS9 reactions Jen, but aren’t you going to start watching ST:Voyager? If so the pilot and 2 other Voyager eps aired before these DS9 eps

Desmond

Apparently not, or at least not concurrently. I guess she wants to get through DS9 and the TNG movies first.

Sykonee

These two back-to-back always gives me weird whiplash. 'Life Support' alone flips between the body-horror of medical experiments on Bariel to the much light-hearted Jake-Nog b-story. Not sure it was such a good idea mixing tonal opposites like that. Then you have a character whiplash with Nog himself, going from stereo-typical Ferengi scamp to someone with asperations to be... better than that? Not that it's an intriguing turn, just wildly out of the blue when but one episode prior he's acting full misogynist on a double-date.

Summer

“Always jamming” or “Dilithium Crystals” would be a good channel or band name

Summer

In heart of stone the Odo parts are great but I could tell it wasn’t Kira making that half of the episode less. Next week a good one and one ok, the next two I really like I do love Odo telling us of his friendship with O’Brien very Holmes and Watson

Summer

Yes after DS9 is done, as long as there is interest, look at it this way she is halfway through season 3 already, she could be at season 4 early February then season 5 in April/May and so on, Voyager then could come by November

Ian

If somehow you've forgotten to get your monthly requests in , only a few days before it resets to another month so be sure to drop them and ofc upvote ones you like www.jenmurrayxo.com

David Brown

Barring any delays, Season 5 would actually start in mid-May, Season 6 in mid-August, and Season 7 in mid-November. Insurrection would be around next Christmastime with 2/3 of Season 7 left.

David Brown

Still totally here for DS9. But sad no Voyager (yet?).

Zapp Rowsdower

You're giving spoilers by talking about the continuity from the episode. Remember, this isn't just being read by those who have already seen the series.

Bammer

Seriously? STOP SPOILING IT!

Desmond

Yeah, no spoilers dude.

Summer

Also between filming these two episodes Nana Visitor who is Kira went through something horrendous Heart of stone is her first time back and being claustrophobic any way it was a hard one for her

Desmond

You don't trust Winn and you don't trust the Cardassians. Sounds like you are looking at all this the right way, lol.

Matt Poppell

She stated before that she is going to watch DS9 all the way through first.

Zapp Rowsdower

When Nog said his father doesn't "have the lobes", it meant he didn't have the instinct, the nose for business and profit.

John DiGiantomasso

Two best Jen lines of this video: "I'm not going to sing it." "They seem shifty." Well done, my friend. Well done.

Senzu Bean

Happy to see Jen enjoy DS9. Imo, the best Trek the franchise has to offer due to it's deeper exploration of (human) existentialism and more fleshed out extraterrestrials. The fact that it's more serialised instead of episodic gives more room for character development and groupdynamics. It remains a shame that the show wasn't shot on a proper film; it would make a remaster much more easier/cheaper.

John DiGiantomasso

I caught that, too. Always talking about "humanity" and "Solar System up ahead" are the two most common Earth-centric gaffes - particularly when spoken by non-humans! I mean, how hard would it be to say "star system" or "planetary system." End rant.

Summer

In Life Support it was DS9 the Cardassians wanted, Dukat could have gotten further in that

Bobby Coolbreeze

Kai Winn is such a master manipulator! Space Karen 😂 Never trust her!

Andrewski 2112

Well, still a little disappointed that Jen won’t meet the new crew, and Captain J for about another year at this point. Fans have a lot of different opinions about the show, but I think Jen will really like Captain J and the unique crew!😁🖖

Bobby Coolbreeze

I had forgotten about the outcome of heart of stone. This is another episode i hadn’t seen since the original airing. Very good character development for both Odo and Nog. The thing about the DS9 is they don’t leave loose ends. There is so much to unpack here. For a bottle episode they really had a lot stuff here going forward. I can’t believe how much I missed in this episode the first time around and have forgotten. Season 3 really is remarkable. A lot of seeds are planted.

Andrew Roach

My favorite line of hers in Heart of Stone is when she basically said during a cave in what can Odo do since he can't shield her from the falling rocks just at the moment he was shielding her from the falling rocks lol!

Laura Thornley

Out of interest, when are you starting on Voyager? Saving it for later and focusing on one at a time?

David Brown

Yes, Jake's date is indeed "Lisa" from 'Saved by the Bell'.

jon bolton

There is definitely some very important Cardassian property they wanted back😋

Carlos Stevens

Grrrrrr.... If Nurse Ratchet was reincarnated as a Bajoran... grrrrr.

Carlos Stevens

I think I said this before, but one of the reasons that I think DS9 is the best Star Trek series is because Captain Sisko reminds me very much of my own father.

Summer

Commnder Sisko of course

jon bolton

Exactly! Like DuKat will ever let us forget he used to be Prefect and run the station.

Clay F

Heart of Stone is a good episode.
