We're back with the next MCU and get to see a side of Iron Man I wasn't expecting at all. It was so interesting to see someone as confident as Tony wrestle with anxiety and PTSD from the events of The Avengers ♡ Looking forward to the next MCU - Thor: The Dark World coming soon!

Movie Runtime: 2:10:32

2026-09-06 01:00 I think 3 was the worst of the 3 installments but I haen't seen it since it came out so will watch it again with you; maybe I'll change my opinion.

Dylan

Always grateful to this movie for taking the time to touch on Tony’s PTSD and how being a superhero has affected his mental health.

Ian

Well Jen you sure look shocked in the thumb , I wonder where in the movie that's from 🤔 looking forward to finding out and just enjoying continuing along with you on your marvel journey 🔥

Dylan

We’re finally starting Phase 2 of the MCU. This is going to be good 🔥

Ian

Ngl I love the fact Trevor is a Liverpool FC fan 🙂🔥 being one myself I can't help but smile . And the fact he's watching us winning 3-0 even better 🔥😀

Darryl Low

This is an entertaining film Jen, filled with some good twists. I liked the scenes and the chemistry between Tony and Harley. They form a good partnership together. This one is considered the weakest of the 3 Iron Man movies but I had a good time watching it. Look forward to watching it with you. I'm really curious to see what you think of the next Thor. Like Iron Man 3, it was considered a disappointment but I love it 😊

Curran Dobbs

Not to brag but I was once Iron Deficient Man...

Webwyrm

This movie doesn't get the love deserves. Also, love the new watch along format. so much easier. You rock!

Harvey Lee

Iron man 3 the third chapter is usually when it begins to fizzle out for many franchises but I feel this one's entertaining I won't say anything about the Mandarin reveal . And I'm enjoying this format Jen .😄

Curran Dobbs

Oh, I'm here all night, folks.

Curran Dobbs

Next Marvel movie is a bit of a Thor subject...

John

Tony put the suit on Pepper during the attack to protect her.

JPDotCom23

Guy Pierce made it big in 'L.A. Confidential', you probably remember Ben Kingsley from 'Sneakers' or Schindler's List' but he won an Oscar for 'Gandhi'. Jenn will return in 'Thor: The Dark World'

Over50Gamer

I thought the same when I saw it in the theaters. After the second and third viewing, it really grew on me and now I consider it a near-genius movie and one of the best MCU movies.

Over50Gamer

I'm loving your journey through the MCU Jen! I didn't like this movie when it came out, because it really threw me off with the whole Mandarin misdirect, but I fell in love with it later. I also love the theme of mental health, specifically anxiety and PTSD. Fun fact: The little girl that was the vice-prez's grand-daughter (?) was Jenna Ortega.

Andrew Skow

I'm all in for Downton Abbey! Just don't skip the Christmas specials between seasons or you'll miss a lot of story.

Andrew Hogan

Are there any plans to watch the non MCU movies before we get into the later stuff.

Jen Murray

I want to watch the 2 Amazing Spider-Mans

Andrew Hogan

Without sparking a debate I would consider whatever Spider-Man films you haven’t seen, i will leave it at that for a reason. Once you get past a certain point though, the tv shows will become somewhat necessary and it can become tedious even to diehard marvel fans. I would consider checking them out (time permitting), even if it isn’t for the channel. The non MCU Marvel films can be a fun departure Ghostrider, Punisher etc; maybe poll worthy. The XMen I would also consider after a certain point also. Just my two cents after watching maybe 20 reactors go through this journey.

Andrew Hogan

Yeah I’d go into it more but I’m trying to avoid spoilers and the usual chaos a thread like this can devolve into.

Jeff McClellan

Hey, I'm really enjoying all of your videos! I don't know if you noticed this, but the first guy who Tony brushes off at the beginning of the movie (actor Shaun Toub as Yinsen) is the same guy who saves his life in the first movie! In fact, in the first film Yinsen even says something like "you may not remember it, but we've met before"...yet another example of Marvel's strategy of "it's all connected".

Jeremy Nuss

A bunch of people sitting in a room, thinking. I don’t like the sound of that. Someone get those people TikTok immediately

Ian Fleming

Not a fan of this movie at all.

Darryl Low

This was a really fun reaction Jen. There were so many bits I'd forgotten about and more twists and turns than I remembered haha. It's a movie with a lot of heart and just makes you smile. I love Brian Tyler's score. It's so epic with a really cool theme. He also wrote the score for the next Thor movie and that is also amazing and heroic. Thanks for another great video Jen 😊

Sean Ellingham

This is my favourite Iron Man movie - I love the music, the character development for Tony, his interactions with Harley, the Mandarin twist, etc. - and TBH it's one of the MCU films I enjoy rewatching the most.

Chris Biebel

BTW, a bit of an Easter Egg was the "I loved you in A Christmas Story" line. The guy who played Ralphie is now known more as a producer and one of the movies where he was a producer was...Iron Man. He also had a small part in that movie. He was the guy in the first movie who, when told that Tony Stark made the mini-arc reactor in a cave, replied with "I'm not Tony Stark."

Thomas Malley

Also the first MCU stand alone to make a billion dollars at the box office. it was such a huge hit when it came out.

Trigger

It was about this point I tired of the Marvel formula

Thadman

The intent of this movie was to show that Tony IS Iron Man, with or without the suit. I really appreciated them dealing with the subject of PTSD and that it can hit anyone, even "The Invincible Iron Man." (the name of his comic, or at least the original).

Jason Scade

That was excellent! We watched your reaction last night, very exciting. I'd only seen once before, many viewings for her. Go Tony! ♥ Go Pepper! ♥ Go Jen! ♥ 'Upgrade' (2018) is an unmissable and little-known dystopian, sci-fi action. I can't recommend it highly enough! It has a similarity to Iron Man, except the protagonist's upgrade is an internal (no armor) implant of a super secret and cutting edge tech, AI system, that allows him to move with unnatural speed and reflexes. Ha also talks to it, as Tony does with Jarvis . The CQC combat is jaw-dropping & bone-crunching! For further Ben Kingsley, I'd very highly recommend UK gangster film 'Sexy Beast' (2000). It has a pretty big cult following and is an offbeat and a must-see UK crime flick. Very tense, very well acted, unforgettable. Both of these are already on Jen's request site, if anyone wants to upvote them. www.jenmurrayxo.com

Who bullied you Jen?! I want a name

Sykonee

Really tough act to follow after the grandiose Avengers movie, so not surprising it didn't get the same amount of love at the time (though definitely a lot of the money!). NGL, was one of those 'eh, not what I'd hoped' folks too, but re-watching now, stacked against the larger MCU canvas, yeah, it's a good one. Really appreciate the relative step-back from the Cosmic Threats the movies had been building upon for a while.
